June Favourites!

Hello! So I have been on a little hiatus for the past couple of weeks. Basically my brother and father  were out in Brazil building an education centre in Curitiba so me and my mum were on our own. We were filling out our time so that we wouldn't feel like we were missing them too much. I thought seeing as it was the end of June I would put together a little Favourite post!

Style
I have been loving this little combo for the past month. Both items are from Topshop. The jeans are tile print Leigh Jean and are so soft and comfortable. These are the third pair of Jeans I have bought from Topshop and they are by far the most well fitted and comfortable jeans that I have owned as they have the perfect amount of strength and are the perfect size and length for me as I am a shorter person who struggles to find jeans!

Movie
My movie favourite for June has to be Maleficent. We went to see it last Saturday and had such a great time! It was completely different from what I was expecting and I loved it! The storyline is based around the evil fairy queen in sleeping beauty and how she is heartbroken which is the main cause of what she does. I also love how they kept the storyline close to the Grimm tale as possible and didn't 'Disney' it up, (don't get me wrong I love Disney!). First of all Angelina Jolie was absolutely AMAZING in it. You could really relate to her character and even when she was being cruel and nasty you didn't feel like you hated her. Also Elle Fanning plays the character of Aurora perfectly. If you haven't seen it then you must go out and see it soon, or get it on DVD when it comes out.

Theatre
This month as well as having a trip to the cinema I paid for my mum and I to go and see Matilda at the theatre. This is another must see show. From start to finish it felt like you were watching a movie and the singing and talent from both the children and the adult actors was excellent. I had read the reviews and knew that it was supposed to be good but it was so much better than I could have imagined. The little girl playing Matilda had the best voice from a young child that I have heard of and you really felt for her character. Miss Trunchball was equally as good and managed to make her character loved as well as hated when she needed to be. Like all theatre shows that are based off books/films there was a little bit of differentiation, but you forgot that it has been a DVD as it is completely different. I have also been singing the songs in my head for the past week! (Also as I write this I am listening to the soundtrack!).

Magazines
I have been subscribed to Elle magazine for the past 2 years and still love reading it every month. I sign up every September at LFWend as it is cheaper and you often get a lovely subscriber present! I love the mixture of celebrity, fashion and beauty that the magazine gives you. Even though there is far too many adverts, you can look past that with the great tips and content that the magazine has. It is by far my favourite 'fashion' magazine to gain inspiration for my fashion design course that I read. I am also subscribed to Glamour magazine which gives me my 'high street' fashion fix! I would recommend reading both or one of these magazines!

Fashion
My final favourite comes in the form of a bag. I have been saving up for months and I have finally been able to afford it. I am of course talking about my first ever designer handbag. It comes in the form of a Michael Kors bag. I am going to go into this bag later on in detail in next sundays post. But I am absolutely in love with the size of it and I got it for a great price!

I hope you enjoyed this different style of post to the favourites that I usually post on my blog!

Have a lovely week!

Blogmas Day 1!

This is my first post in my little blogmas series! I am so excited to be doing this this year as I always watch the vlogmas videos on youtube! Anyway.. I was tagged by Robin to do this tag and seeing as I am OBSESSED with everything to do with christmas I decided to complete it!

Do you prefer a real Christmas tree or synthetic?
Every year since I was little we have bought a real christmas tree on the first weekend of December. This has become some sort of tradition for us. I also love the smell of a real tree!
You're in a coffee shop, it's December, what do you pick up?
At the moment I am loving the Honeycomb hot chocolate from costa.

What's your favorite color scheme for decorating the tree?
We don't really stick to a scheme in our household. I always decorate the tree every year and just put on the decorations that we have bought for a certain reason/occasion first then fill the spaces! We go for the mismatch element ;)

Giving or receiving?
Giving most defiantly. I make things for my family and get so excited to be able to share them with people!
To mince pie or not to?
I love mince piesssssssssssss! My brother is also a big fan of them and eats them all year round. They are a big deal here in the uk!
What's your traditional Christmas lunch?
Turkey, Potatoes, Broccoli, Brussel sprouts, Parsnips and Stuffing. The whole lot.

Christmas day fashion
I usually wear either something that I have bought prior to christmas or if I am lucky enough to be gifted anything in the morning then I will wear that. I love a good christmas dress!

What's your favourite Christmas song?
Jingle Bells or Let it snow!

What's your favourite Christmas film?
At the moment I am loving Arthur Christmas. But my old favs are the grinch and elf!

Open presents before or after lunch?
In the morning once everyone in the family are awake,(There is a lot of waiting for my brother to wake up and come downstairs).

I am not going to actually tag anybody in this but feel free to complete it and let me know your replies!

Yankee Candles galore!

So I may have gone a little crazy in the past few weeks regarding a certain brand of candles...
So in my defence they were on a crazy discount which I feel makes it totally acceptable!

So the candles in question..

Summer Scoop £0.84p each - I picked this candle up a couple of weeks ago in House of Fraser at my local shopping centre. The candle smells like strawberry ice cream and when its being burnt it lets off a sweet shop scent! (Which I totally love). I also picked up this cute butterfly bowl to place my candles in. This was also on a HUGE discount and I got it for £1.80.

Sicilian Lemon £1.00 - This candle smells really fresh and 'clean' when being burnt. I bought this for my bedroom to go with my Summer Scoop candle and they go so nicely together! This candle reminds me so much of being on holiday which I love!

(This is how the candles look currently on the plate in my bedroom. I love the way that this is arranged)

Candy Corn £8.49 - This candle was bought at a huge discount! I got it from an outlet shopping centre and have looked online to buy this again but can't get hold of it anywhere! The candle smells a mixture of popcorn and candy. It is a perfect Halloween themed candle, hence the image on the glass. It really makes the room smell so sweet and it is currently sitting in my kitchen ready for october!

Camomille tea and Red Berry and Cider £8.49 each - Both of these candles were bought as presents for family friends for christmas. The Camomile tea reminds me so much of my grandparents house as it has such a sweet and clean scented smell. Red Berry and Cider pretty much sums up the scent of christmas for me. We always get a real christmas tree and the decorations sometimes have a scent within them that makes the tree smell nice. This is what the candle smells like. I love the bright red of the candle also as it gives off a really 'wintery' feeling whenever I see it!

Hope you enjoyed this first 'lifestyle' post. I love buying candles as they can really set up a mood! Let me know what candles I should be getting next time I am out!
