BLOGMAS

I know the concept of Blogmas/vlogmas is probably nothing new to many of you, but if you are unaware of what it is then you basically post christmas related things from December 1st to December 25th. It is done in a way to get you excited for christmas and to spread a little festive fun. I have decided to do it this year and I am really excited about it! Let me know if you are going to take part in it as I would love to read some of your christmas related posts!

Top 4 christmas decorations!

For the penultimate edition of my christmas decoration favourites I have been searching in a bigger store for some items that I love. Debenhams, http://www.debenhams.com is a huge department store that sells items from washing machines to clothes and computers to toys. It is a HUGE shop and they really go all out with their trends for each season.

Candle £7.50
This candle is a subtle decoration that could probably be left out all year round, but in the christmas season with the right scented tea light inside can represent christmas fully!

Angel £9.75
I love the shape and decoration of this angel, it is so poignant in the meaning of christmas and looks so elegant and stunning. I would love to have this on my side in my bedroom or even down by a fire place.

Snow globe £22.50
I have always wanted a christmas snow globe! I love the idea of shaking them up and seeing the snow fall down on top of the creature inside! There is a tutorial online of how to make your own snow globe so I may be trying that out in the future! (let me know if this is something you would like to see).

Advent calendar £27.20

Every year I buy a advent calendar full of little chocolate surprises, something different is this wooden calendar. I love this idea as you can reuse it every year and put anything you want to inside. I have had my eye on the nail varnish calendar but alas it is far to expensive for my pocket to handle so this may be a good alternative! You can then put in chocolates or beauty products to only use once you get to that day!

I hope you liked some of these finds. I know that Debenhams is a little bit more costly when it comes to items like these however I feel they are such good quality that I wanted to share them!

Lots of love

Would you rather - Makeup Edition!

The lovely Chloe left me a comment the other day letting me know that she had tagged me to do this tag and I must admit I got a little bit over excited! I love doing tag questions and sharing my answers and even recommending some of my favourite blogs to check out and to do the tag. Chloe's blog is also one that I have been following for a while now so make sure you check her out!

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
The palettes and eyeshadows can go! I am more than happy to skip that step in my makeup routine!

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
My Hair is really long at the moment and the idea of cutting it all off saddens me. However I don't know whether I would be able to cope with it being ridiculously long..Therefore I think I will have to go with chopping all my hair off that way it can grow back! (Yes I definitely thought way to much into that answer)

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
I use pink blush all the time and feel that it is more natural to me!

4. If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
Clothes. I always complain that I have no clothes so would love to just be able to buy some clothes that I didn't have to worry about the price tag for a change! I also own too much makeup!

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Eyeliner as lipstick is probably more logical.. Although I don't wear eyeliner..

6. Would you rather only shop at Mac or Sephora?
Unfortunately I am going to have to go with MAC on the basis that there is no Sephora in the UK. However I think they need to bring one over here soon!

7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
I always wear the same eyeshadow every day for uni so I think that I will live with that one colour for the rest of my life! I also am obsessed with changing up my lipsticks!

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer, or summer clothes in the winter?
Hard question! I would rather wear my winter clothes in the summer, as long as I can take off the layers whenever I want to. Also I do wear winter clothes in summer sometimes as the weather in the UK is not the best!

9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright Nails. My skin is far to pale to wear dark dark nails every day. Also my favourite colour is pink so I like to wear all the different shades!

10. Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
Favourite Eye Product.

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
Ponytails never go wrong and messy buns are so unpredictable!

12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
Never use lipgloss! I paint my nails nearly twice a week and have an addiction to nail polish!

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
Erm.. is this even a question? Sharpie!

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
Without Nail Varnish probably, although I would find it extremely hard!

Manicure Monday!

I have a sunday night routine which includes washing my hair, getting my bag ready for uni and painting my nails. Last night I decided to go for my last girly nail design for a while as starting from next weekend I am going to be in full christmas festive mode!

The nail varnish I used was Maybelline in 'Feline' and my Rio nail art tool pens. I then sealed my design with a Barry M topcoat. I decided to only do the rose design on the accent finger and to keep the other nails pretty simple as I thought it made it look chic and a little sophisticated. Let me know if this type of post is something you would be interest

Sorry that this post is a little short, I wanted to try something a little different with my blog! Let me know if this type of post is something you would be interested in!

Top 4 christmas decoration!

Following on from my previous two posts I am still on the hunt for the most perfect christmas decorations for the inside of your home/bedroom.

Wilkinson

One store that have really surprised me and have upped' the game in christmas deco this year is wilkinson. ( http://www.wilko.com) They have updated their website to make it so easy to find their christmas decorations, and have even split their decorations into 4 trends which consist of various colour schemes or themes of animals throughout. This is something that I feel other stores don't really address much but is something I definitely look for when shopping for decorations! I am really drawn to their 'berry' collection which is, as you guessed, involving reds and tartan within.

Fleece throw £8.00
This fleece would look so cute thrown over the bed with mountains of pillows all over the top of it! I don't think anything says christmas without snuggly cushions and wrapping yourself up in a blanket watching christmas movies!
Decoration £1.50
The first thing that drew me to this item was the chain that it was attached with. It is so different and sweet that I think I am going to have to buy this for myself for my little christmas tree that goes in my bedroom.
2m Garland £3.00
I am guilty to have already brought this item from wilkinson. It is just so adorable and turns the room to automatically look christmassy so effortlessly. The twine that it is on is also cute which I personally think makes anything look and feel like christmas and present giving!

Sign £2.00
I don't think anything shouts, MERRY CHRISTMAS quite like a sign that states just that. This would look really good on the back/front of a door or on your wall, it basically will look and feel like christmas anywhere!
Star pegs £1.00
I love this idea of putting up a piece of string and then attaching your christmas cards or photos with these pegs. I have bought some similar to these but will be buying this also so I can display some of my fugifilm instax camera photos!
Bottle basket £8.00
I saw this and automatically fell in love with it? It is such a simple item, yet looks like so much effort has been made into putting it together. This would just look perfect sitting on your side or just below your christmas tree. It is one of them items that you just want to have although you don't know what you will do with it!

Above are some of my favourite bits from wilkinson, let me know what you have bought for decorations this christmas or what you think I need to get!

Lots of love

Top 4 Christmas Decorations!

For the second post in this series of my favourite christmas decorations I have spotted some great finds in Sainsbury's. To me it is easy accessible as there is one in my high street, how ever they have a great website online that is easy to navigate through! (http://www.sainsburys.co.uk)
Sainsbury's
I never know what to expect from Sainsbury's but they have really upped' the decoration antics this year! There are also some bits which don't shout too much 'christmas' but more comfy which allows you to leave some of the bits out throughout the winter season!

Berry lights £15

Wreath £20
These wreaths are two of my favourite bits from their whole collection of christmas bits. The fairy lights are meant to represent berry's, but just generally look so cute! The wreath is something that we buy for our house every year and this looks so luxurious and pretty. I think this will look really pretty on both front doors, and inside on room doors.

Cushion £10.00

Owl doorstop £7.99
Both of these are so cute! I love the tartan print on the owls body and the check print on the cushion. Currently the owl is a third off and it is also a decorative way to keep doors open!

gold star £3.99

Decorative bird £3.99

Wooden sign £3.99
All of these items are also in a sale at the moment which makes them super cheap and affordable to buy! I love these items as they look so retro and vintage. wall signs like the one above are really in at the moment and have been for a while now. This is another item that can be left out all winter! The little bird is also so cute and would look lovely sitting on a window place or desk. It adds a little glamour to your room also with the gold appearance!

Above is just a few of the items that I found in sainsbury's and checked to see that they were online also. The delivery charge is £3.95 from their website, but it is free to order online and collect in your nearest sainsbury's if the order is over £15! I really recommend taking a browse online or in store as there are some great things to be found! Let me know which pieces were your favourite!

Top 4 Christmas Decorations!

Every year I vow to myself that I will decorate my bedroom to appear and look all christmassy, and every year without fail this doesn't happen. As a family we do the usual traditional things of getting the tree on the first saturday of December, Advent calendars and candles, but my bedroom is one I always forget to do. Probably because my bedroom is so pink and flowery all year round it is quite difficult to make it appear christmassy.

For some reason this year high street stores have really caught onto this trend which leads on to my top 10 christmas decorations from some favourite high street stores (or easy accessible websites)! I have decided to split this in to separate posts!

Next!

For this first post I wanted to start with a website that I probably shop at the most, and use their store probably the same amount too! Next! (http://www.next.co.uk

Something that is so good about their store is the fact that you are able to shop online until 10pm to get next day delivery to your home...which is good when it comes to buying christmas presents last minute! Their website is also easy to navigate through as they have a separate tab dedicated to christmas present ideas, decorations and cards/wrappings. Basically everything you need, all in one place!

Stocking £10.00

Stocking £8.00
I love the idea of having a stocking up in my bedroom and both of these are so different but equally as cute! The top stocking is much more based along the vintage theme that has become more frequent amongst stores and websites. I love the writing on the bag and how effortless it looks. The stocking below that looks more traditional but in my opinion looks so chic to have pinned up on your wall. (Or hanging off a door handle if you don't want to make marks in the wall!)
Christmas card holder £18.00
Seeing as christmas is the time of giving and receiving christmas cards it is nice to display some of your favourite ones up on the wall. This is such a great idea as it is function able, pretty, and could be used to showcase some of your favourite things after christmas!

String of hearts £5.00
These decorations are smaller and more discreet when it comes to decorating your bedroom, however the tartan pint and middle quote of 'We believe' makes it perfect for christmas festivities.
Bunting £10.00
I am lucky enough to have a bed that has a gorgeous massive head to it, that means I can intertwine fairy lights and buntings through it. This is something that I am going to be buying and ordering as soon as I have finished writing this post as it will be perfect for christmas! This also links into the idea of vintage-ness!
Table top christmas decoration £20.00
Finally this little tree decoration would be perfect for the christmas season. I currently have a vase of fake flowers in my bedroom which, don't get me wrong, looks adorable but it screams summer and the sun. For winter I am going to replace it with something similar to this! I think this is also fun as you could decorate with fairy lights, small strands of tinsel or ribbon and add some of your favourite tree decorations! This is also a must have on my christmas list thats for sure!

I hope you enjoyed this style of post and are looking forward to some of my other favourite decorations from well known high street and online stores. I am going to try and post my top 5 before december so you can get ready for christmas!

Lots of love!

October Favourites!

I can't believe how quickly the month of October has gone! Seems like it was just yesterday that it was september and I was starting Uni and now it has just become routine for me!  A few good things happened this month such as passing my driving theory test and becoming more confident on this blogging site! I can not wait until next month and christmas! (Seeing as it is now one month before, I can start posting my Christmas DIY tutorials!)

Anyway onto the real meaning behind this post.. My favourites!!

Beauty
I have been trying out a few new beauty products that I either bought this month, or started using this month.

Hoola by Benefit- This is one product that I always wanted to try but felt like it wouldn't match my skin tone what so ever. I only just a small amount on my brush and then blend it into my cheek bones and temples. This gives such a natural tone and I love the way it looks on my pale skin!

L'oreal Paris Nude magique eau de teint-  I wrote a review on this the other day which can be read here. I love the finish this foundation has on my skin! I have read a few reviews and they say that it leaves the skin a little dry, I haven't had this case! On some applications this can happen but after blending and setting with the powder this soon goes away. I can't believe how similar this foundation is to my all time favourite touché éclat!

Kiko Face brush 106- Linking in with the foundation this brush is something that I picked up in Italy on my holiday in the summer. This brush is so soft and blends in to the skin perfectly. Something different to all the different foundation brushes I have previously tried is the handle to it. It is so light and easy to hold which makes the application much easier than before!

MAC Launch away Satin blush- This is my all-time favourite blush. I was bought this blush as a gift last christmas and have been using it ever since and am yet to hit the pan! It blends lovely with hoola so they have  become my go to duo for cheeks this month.

Fuchsia Flash by Maybelline- I got this lipstick for free at London fashion week and have been a little hesitant to use it seeing how bright it was. I have been using a little of it and have noticed how far it goes! I use Baby Lips Hydrate before I apply to make the colour blend into my lips a little more and have seen how natural this can actually look! This has been worn every day to uni so far!

Batiste dry shampoo in floral and flirty blush- This is something that probably reflects my university life fully. I wouldn't call myself lazy but being someone with longer hair it takes hours (ok half an hour) to dry after washing it. Also sometimes it is nice to add a little volume to the hair instead of hairspray. This also smells lovely which is such a bonus!

Random Favourites

Alexa Chung It- I picked this book up from urban outfitters during fresher week and have only just began to read it. At first I found it a little confusing as to what I was reading about as it seems really unstructured and spontaneous. Alexa has basically written a book about all of her favourite things (which is really fitting for this post!). She starts talking about her favourite people and her inspiration and goes on to talk about her make up idols etc. I love this book and how vintage it looks! Such a lovely bedtime read!

Panda Hat- I had a hat like this last year but have managed to lose it which I was so gutted about! whilst browsing through Primark the other week I found this hat and instantly picked it up! This hat fits so nicely and is such great quality for Primark and is something that I am going to wear all the time this winter!

Animal Print Scarf- With the weather changing I have been bringing this scarf with me everywhere just in case of any sudden climate change! I bought this scarf in Italy and love the quality and texture of it. It is so soft and keeps my neck so warm when wearing it!

I hope you liked this style of post, I will be posting one each month. Let me know what favourites you enjoyed this month and If you have done a post like this leave the link below!
