This weekend I was lucky enough to attend the presentation of the Miló Maria Spring Summer London Fashion Week show. After reading the press release for the collection, I knew instantly that I was in for a treat. The release said that we had been invited 'on a space odyssey'. This excited me as I am obsessed with anything space related so was keen to see Miló Maria's interpretation of this. I loved that there was inspiration of the universe and that the collection was stimulated by space and the human ambition to conquer it.
The collection was made up of ten looks which were presenting the theme using contrasting fabrics and shapes. I loved how the loose tailoring, that Miló Maria is known for, was combined with a sporty luxe edge as this made for very futuristic silhouettes. One of my favourite looks from the whole collection was a metallic top and skirt combo which just glistened beautifully in the light. Other favourites include a pale blue trouser/jacket combo and a longer pale blue jacket which hung beautifully off the model.
Being a Fashion Textiles student, I am always interested when designers like Miló Maria draw their inspiration from interesting places. My personal interest into space and the universe is proably why I loved the collection and its prints so much!
