Fugifilm, instax mini 8 review

When I was researching into buying this little camera I found it very hard finding honest reviews. To begin with I bought my camera and film both from Amazon. I was really impressed with the next day delivery option that was free because i ordered before a certain time. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Model-Fuji-Instax-Fujifilm/dp/B009ZM9R4O/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1378462315&sr=8-9&keywords=instax+mini) The camera is costly at £63.75, but was something that I had wanted and worked to treat myself!

The camera itself is a handbag size item that looks smart and has a matte texture that feels nice to hold. I bought the camera in the Pink/Rose colour and can honestly say that the pictures seen on the internet are a true reflection to the product. This camera is something that I have wanted for a while now and finally brought it after recommendation from my tutor that it will be something good for a university fashion student to have!

The package comes with the camera, a strap, 2 AA batteries (which are essential!), a instruction manual and a 1 year limited warranty. The camera takes Instax mini instant colour film, which are about the size of a credit card.

The quality of the images printed and the way that the camera works is amazing. I did not expect the images to be quite as detailed and sharp as they were. When taking the images there are 5 settings that the camera can be adjusted to. This is done automatically and lights up on the one you need to turn the ring towards. This style of point and shoot makes it fun to use and even my mum enjoys taking pictures on it.

Overall it is a easy product to use and has the same beauty of the polaroid (although the pictures are smaller). A negative point on these style of cameras is that the price of the film can be costly, Although I buy my film off of Amazon.co.uk http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujifilm-Shoots-Mini-Instax-Pack/dp/B0000C73CQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378461972&sr=8-1&keywords=instax+mini+film) in a double pack of 2x 10 instead of one lot of 10. I particulary like the fact there is space at the bottom to be able to write your own little comments/notes.

Something I would recommend buying for this camera is a small photo album. Once you have taken the pictures and they have printed (instantly!) they do need to air for a few minutes before putting them away. I found that a few images were ruined by placing them directly into a bag/purse afterwards. I bought a small album that was 25p from Wilkinsons in my town and slide them into the wallets.

Hope this has helped anybody interested in the camera. If there are any questions comment below and i will try my best to help you further.

Great review - I love the idea of having a camera that prints photos instantly, but like you say it's quite costly to top up on the film :s

    1. To be fair, I worried about the size when I first got it, but I haven't really been too bothered about it once using it. If there is a particular picture you like then you can always scan it into a computer and print it out.

I quite like that they are small enough to fit into my purse as well as I have a few pictures of me and my family there to cheer me up if I am ever feeling down!

      Thanks for the comment!
