Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipsticks!

It's probably the right time to admit that I am 100% a lipstick hoarder! But when I saw on Twitter that Urban Decay were doing a deal where you can get the Revolution lipsticks for £9, I simply had to take them up on the offer! I have never tried any Urban Decay lipsticks before, as I had never really been that sold on them before! But I thought that this was such a great opportunity to try them out, and perhaps try something more daring than what I would usually! Another great thing about ordering online is the samples that you can try out for free! I chose the eyeshadow primer, which I consider a classic Urban Decay product, as its something that I have never tried but always wanted to!

The £9 deal was available across all of the Revolution Lipsticks for a limited time only. I am having a little fling at the moment with matte lipsticks. I love how they sit on the lips and I much prefer something that doesn't feel like you are actually wearing it. I was feeling very brave when I purchased them. 'Temper' and 'Tilt' are the reddest shades out of the matte collection, but in my opinion the prettiest! Being a pale person, I always find red colours quite intimidating for me to wear. However I gave them a try and have mixed feelings about them! Temper is the perfect colour for me, It isn't a true red, but it isn't orange. It has the right mixture of the two and is something I can deffo see me wearing as a evening/going out shade in the future. Tilt on the other hand is very orange. I applied this and have found that it isn't as flattering against my skin tone as Temper. With that being said when applied lightly and blended/tapped onto the lips, you can create a more subtle colour which is probably how I will wear this colour.

The matte finish wasn't quite what I had expected, although I am probably comparing it to the finish of the Kylie Lip Kits which are obviously very drying. When I picture a matte I consider it almost a stain and smudge proof, but these lipsticks certainly need touching up after drinking or eating! But a small price to pay for what is a lovely lipstick!

Me wearing Temper on a night out!

Let me know what you think of these lipsticks!
Did you take advantage of the £9 Revolution Lipstick sale!?

St Tropez gradual in shower tan review!

St Tropez gradual in shower tan review

I know what you probably think; yet another fake tan review from an Essex girl. However, I am probably as far from Essex in the beauty world than you would think!

I am not ashamed to admit that I have never applied a fake tan myself, and if I have used one then it has been applied at the salon by professionals. I will be honest with you; fake tan has never really been high on my priority list. Throughout the awkward school years my friends would tell tales of how they put fake tan on and have woken up with lines and marks where it hasn’t applied correctly. As a very pale person, I found the idea of having something orange lathered onto my skin a very intimidating aspect! Unlike some of my more tan friends, if the fake tan went wrong on me then you would definitely be able to tell!

A couple of weeks ago I began to get a bit fed up with being told that I must ‘hate the summer because of your pale skin’, so I went out and bought the St Tropez gradual in shower tan. (Actually, I didn’t mean to purchase the in shower formula at all, but I am certainly glad that I did!) St Tropez was a brand of fake tan that I knew was used in salons and I also read that it was good for pale skin so I thought I would give it a go. I am amazed with the outcome! As sad as it sounds, this product has given me a lot of confidence at a time where I think I needed it the most. So for that, this product is going to be an all time favourite of mine!

The idea of the St Tropez gradual in shower tan is that it takes away the waiting and worry of marking bed sheets, by having a quick and easy fake tan application. It also moisturizers the skin at the same time as tanning it, so it’s almost a 2-in-1 for me.

So applying the product is super easy! You shower as normal, wash your hair/shave your legs; basically do whatever you want to do before applying the product. (If you have washed your hair make sure you tie it up before applying the tan though, as water dripping could make it streaky!) Next you turn the shower off and put a generous helping of the tan in your hand. Then you simply apply it to the wet skin by creating a lather in your hands. Once you have applied it everywhere you wash your hands and then wait for 3 minutes. These 3 minutes are seriously the longest time in the world when waiting for it to absorb into the skin. I find it easier to listen to a song on Spotify as they last the right amount of time and give me something to do whilst standing like a muppet in the shower. When the 3 minutes is up you wash it all off and then tap the skin to dry it with a towel. Due to the ‘gradual tan’ nature, the tan develops over the day/night to give a natural glow. This tan really does work well and I haven’t had any issues with ‘streaking’. The best bit is there isn’t a horrible fake tan smell, which lingers for ages!

For me, the tan is perfect as it truly is natural, but I can imagine that for other more advanced tanners that this product probably isn’t dark enough for them after one application. But you can definitely layer up the tan by applying more frequently, or like me when I feel like it!

Overall, I find that this fake tan has really improved my life, and I realize how crazy that sounds! I love that I can apply this tan with no worries of it being streaky or turning orange. It is really subtle and I know I am going to be using this for a very long time! I purchased my tan on Amazon, but I know you can get it in lots of different stores too like Boots and Superdrug although prices can vary!

I hope you liked this post!
Let me know if you have tried out this tan and if you have what do you think of it?

June Birchbox : Paradise Found

It's that time again in the month where I share my latest discoveries in beauty with thanks to my Birchbox subscription.

This month's box was under the theme of 'Paradise Found', and the products came within a pineapple drawer style box. Initially I was a little annoyed with the fact this box is different from the others. Being the saddo I am, I have started to use the boxes to store bits in within my dressing table. So it's a little annoying that this box isn't as easy to use in this way. I have kind of decided I like this box a little bit more now, although I still would have loved the products to come in their usual protective pouch!

I don't want to sound like a debbie downer, but I am really not impressed with the contents of this months box. The whole theme of the box is that it is perfect for sunny days, however I can't really see what this has to do with it. (I also did that annoying thing of searching the tags and finding out people got SUCH better things than me yet again!)

Since last month's box disaster, I had changed my profile to try and not get hair products! This kind of worked out, although I think it was replaced with face and body cream! Come on beauty box where is the beauty products!!

Whish Coconut Milk CC Body Cream RRP £15.50
This is a CC body cream that is supposed to hydrate and bronze you from 'tip to toe'. You are supposed to smooth it generously over your legs, arms and anywhere else you want a little glow. I haven't really tried this out properly yet as I am currently using the St Tropez in shower tanning lotion, but I am looking forward to giving it a go soon! One thing I do know is that it smells amaze!

Absolution Le Nettoyant Purete RRP £26.00
This product is one the two facial cleansers that I received this month. It has all natural ingredients and apply's smoothly to remove all dirt and grime. I am not sure what I think of this product. Perhaps I should give it a try!

Huygens RRP £17.90
This is another facial cleanser that smells like lemons. It smells like it would taste amazing, although I am clearly not going to eat it! The product has small rice powder particles within so is gentle enough to use as an everyday cleanser. I am excited to give this a go. This product is also a Birchbox exclusive product.

Percy & Reed Reassuringly firm session hold hairspray RRP £12.00
There isn't really much to say about this product, except that it is a hairspray that is supposed to be great for humidity. Its a small size, so is going to be perfect for my holiday bag!

Jelly Pong Pong in Fig Jam RRP £17.95
Once you get over the name, this product is a lip and cheek cream that blends out beautifully to add a pop of colour to any makeup look. I am yet to try this, but I imagine it would be perfect for the summer! A little goes a long way though and the product doesn't come out as in your face as it looks in the pot!

So that was June's Birchbox. I was kind of excited to receive it, although was quite disappointed with the repetitive products. I am also hoping that each month will bring me some more  makeup products instead of creams.

Next month is a Millie Mackintosh designed box which I am really excited to receive. Lets hope the products are of a better variation! Also lets hope there are no hair products!

Ombre : Summer Style OOTD

So the weather has perked up again! Thank goodness, I was beginning to think that summer had come and gone in the space of a day! I am here again with another OOTD in my new favourite place in the garden. I have taken the last couple of blogposts in this exact spot at different times of the day to try and figure out when the best time is to take the pics! I still need to invest in a whole lighting equipment, but for now this is the best I can do!

So, I got this top the other week when shopping the New Look sale. I found it a little unusual and different so obviously I had to get it. I have found it really hard to style though! The colour just doesn't seem to go with my light wash jeans, but perfectly with a white or dark denim pair. (I promise I do wear other jeans than these white ones, but have fallen in love with them over the last couple of weeks!) The jeans are from Marks and Spencers Limited collection believe it or not. I was never really a shopper of Marks and was going to buy a pair of white jeans from Topshop. However these were a pound or two cheaper and just fit so much nicer! They are also not crisp white but more of an off white shade which is perfect for me!

On my feet I wore my other new sandals from Primark. You know what they say, you can never have enough pairs of Primark sandals. Oh, they don't say that? never mind then!

I hope you enjoyed reading my latest OOTD blogpost! I am loving making them again now I have some more time in my day to dedicate to taking HD pictures!

Let me know what you think!
Lots of love,

May Favourites!

May Favourites!

Oh my goodness this year is going by so quickly! I can’t quite believe that we are starting June already. This month marks a month until I go on my first trip to America. Something that I am both really excited and nervous about at the same time!

I have loved a mixture of things this month. With the weather being so changeable, one minute it’s boiling hot and one minute its cold, I haven’t really started wearing or using my fully summer products yet! So fingers crossed that I can this month.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
I have been using this product for a couple of months now and have really loved how it works with my skin. I have quite sensitive skin so usually stick with my Simple face wipes, (I know what your going to say!), to remove my makeup as I don’t want to use a makeup remover that will irritate me. This cleansing water works really well and removes all of my makeup including my waterproof mascara with a few swipes of my cotton pad. The best thing about this is that you don’t have to wash your face with water afterwards to remove any residue as it cleanses your skin as well.

Bach Rescue Remedy: Comfort and reassurance
If you have read THIS blogpost, you might know that I have struggled with anxiety and find it difficult sometimes to make myself feel calm or relaxed in certain situations. This little spray bottle has pretty much changed my whole life! I use it whenever I feel like I am unsettled, and its become a lifesaver when on a packed train into London! I also used it recently when I had to face my fear of going to hospitals and although I still felt nervous about going, I definitely wasn’t as anxious or agitated as I probably could have been. I buy this from my local Holland and Barratt, although you can get it from other places too. This is really worth purchasing if your trying to get to the bottom of your worries.

Clinque moisturizing lotion and serum
I got gifted these two little beauties for my 21st birthday. They are the Clinque moisturizing lotion and custom repair serum. I apply the serum first under my eyes and then put the lotion all over my face afterwards making sure that it’s rubbed in fully. I have noticed a difference in the smoothness of my skin when I have applied this product! I have been applying this every night before bed as it does look a little greasy when used!

Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream
I purchased this hand cream on a whim as my local boots had sold out of the mini Soap and Glory Hand Food, I know tragic! I was really surprised at how good this is though! Its also perfect to just throw into a handbag.

Sleek Face Form Contouring Palette
I have had this palette for a little while now but never really showed it enough love. I have recently discovered my love for highlighter and this looks perfect on the high points of your cheeks as well as on your brow bone. It has the perfect amount of shimmer and lasts all day.

Natural Collection Suntint Bronzing Powder
I recently received this bronzer in the post and have been using it ever since. For days when I don’t feel like wearing lots on my face, this product is perfect! It has a slight shimmer in it so it doubles as a highlight as well as a bronzer. Also for £1.99 it’s a complete win!

Maybelline colour show Vinyl – Pink Punk
I got this nail varnish a while ago and completely forgot about owning it. I have had this colour on my nails pretty much all month. Its long-lasting and also doesn’t need a top coat!

Those are a few of the things I have been loving this past month, although there is certainly a lot more that I could have included!

What have you been loving this month?
Let me know in the comments!
Have a lovely rest of your day!

Lots of love,
