Charlotte Tilbury - Super Cindy Hot Lips Review

I would like to think that when it comes to shopping I am not easily influenced. This was certainly not the case when my brothers girlfriend and I went for a girls shopping day out in London. My brother's girlfriend Emma, is a big shopper through and through. She knows where the best shops are and she pretty much sniffs out a great deal! I knew that going into the Charlotte Tilbury store in Covent Garden was going to be especially dangerous for me though as there are so many things that I had swooned over online! So although I was convinced to buy a lipstick from the 'Hot Lips' collection, I could have left with a lot more damage.

When looking at the 'Hot Lip's' collection online I knew that I wanted the Kim K.W shade. Once swatching it in the Covent Garden store I realised that this shade was really not for me. It was really pale and against my skin washed me out. I thought I was going to leave the shop unhappy until I spotted the shade Super Cindy. I fell in love instantly! If you have read some of my other posts, you may have read that I am on the hunt for a matte lipstick that I can use on occasions that I don't want to wear my Kylie Jenner Lip Kit in Candy K. I think I have found it in this product, although I may actually prefer this!

The shade Super Cindy is a taupey nude that relates back to the classic look of Cindy Crawford. One a pale skin like mine the shade looks like a dark nude which compliments my skin perfectly! The texture is smooth and the lipstick is matte once applied. I love this lipstick and know I am going to get a lot of use out of it in my everyday makeup look.

Oh and how could I forget about the absolutely adorable rose gold packaging?!?! I am a sucker for rose gold, and know that this little beauty is going to look perfect on my dressing table! The lip embossing on the lipstick is also a lovely added extra detail.

I hope you enjoyed this blogpost! Is there anything from Charlotte Tilbury you think I need to own? I know that I want to try out some of their powders soon. Let me know in the comments what you think!

Saturated Colour Cosmetics Locked Lips review!

You know that feeling when you discover a product that might just change your whole makeup routine forever? Well I think I may have just found it with this product!

I have never seen a lip product quite like this, and to be honest I didn't know what to expect from it! The product is a clear lip sealant that locks in your lipstick to make it long lasting with no transfer. This means that technically, you should be able to eat and drink without the worry of lip products being wiped off! Such a bonus if you don't have time, or just can't be bothered, to touch up your lipstick when on the go!

Appearance
How cool does this product look! When receiving Locked Lips, I was expecting it to have a dough foot applicator, so I was really surprised to see more of a 'nail varnish' brush. The brush makes it really easy to apply the product as it helps you to guide it onto your lips! It also means you can apply the right amount of product each time.

Application
To test this product out, I decided that I would wear one of the brightest lipsticks that I have, as well as one that always has to be touched up throughout the day! I then applied Locked Lips and waited for the product to set. I was surprised at how quick this happened. You only have to apply a small layer for this to work and there isn't any weird taste or feeling on the lips either which was something I was a little weary about! The only minus about this product, if you can call it a minus, is that when waiting the few minutes for the product to dry, the lips feel rather sticky. This is only a momentary thing though and it soon goes back to being dry.

First Impression
After wearing this product for a couple of hours, I can tell that this is going to be something that I am going to love to wear when wearing a bold colour. It would also be perfect to apply before a night out as I would be able to guarantee that my lipstick would not smudge at all.

Negatives?
To be honest, I didn't really find any negatives from this product at all. I know that I will be more than likely to wear it a lot when I want to have a long-lasting lipstick. The only tip when applying Locked Lips that I can think of, is that you need to make sure you apply it everywhere on your lips unlike my first time using this where I somehow missed the edges and middle of my lips! (As seen in the image above!) You also need to make sure you clean the brush after every use as your lipstick transfers onto the brush. This is something however that I did expect to have to do!

Overall, this product really surprised me. There were a lot of statements made about Locked Lips that I thought couldn't possibly be true! However it really is a great product that locks in any lipstick that you want to last all day! I know that this is now going to be something that I am going to use more frequently! Oh and its 100% coming with me to America this summer!

Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipsticks!

It's probably the right time to admit that I am 100% a lipstick hoarder! But when I saw on Twitter that Urban Decay were doing a deal where you can get the Revolution lipsticks for £9, I simply had to take them up on the offer! I have never tried any Urban Decay lipsticks before, as I had never really been that sold on them before! But I thought that this was such a great opportunity to try them out, and perhaps try something more daring than what I would usually! Another great thing about ordering online is the samples that you can try out for free! I chose the eyeshadow primer, which I consider a classic Urban Decay product, as its something that I have never tried but always wanted to!

The £9 deal was available across all of the Revolution Lipsticks for a limited time only. I am having a little fling at the moment with matte lipsticks. I love how they sit on the lips and I much prefer something that doesn't feel like you are actually wearing it. I was feeling very brave when I purchased them. 'Temper' and 'Tilt' are the reddest shades out of the matte collection, but in my opinion the prettiest! Being a pale person, I always find red colours quite intimidating for me to wear. However I gave them a try and have mixed feelings about them! Temper is the perfect colour for me, It isn't a true red, but it isn't orange. It has the right mixture of the two and is something I can deffo see me wearing as a evening/going out shade in the future. Tilt on the other hand is very orange. I applied this and have found that it isn't as flattering against my skin tone as Temper. With that being said when applied lightly and blended/tapped onto the lips, you can create a more subtle colour which is probably how I will wear this colour.

The matte finish wasn't quite what I had expected, although I am probably comparing it to the finish of the Kylie Lip Kits which are obviously very drying. When I picture a matte I consider it almost a stain and smudge proof, but these lipsticks certainly need touching up after drinking or eating! But a small price to pay for what is a lovely lipstick!

Me wearing Temper on a night out!

Let me know what you think of these lipsticks!
Did you take advantage of the £9 Revolution Lipstick sale!?

Summer lipstick favourites!

So it appears that the sun played a trick on all of us in the UK last week by giving us a glimpse into the Summer sunshine! This little 'ray' of hope made me get all excited to wear my more 'summery' makeup looks, which to be honest I have been wearing throughout spring! With that being said I went through all of the shades of lipstick that I have been loving recently and some that I know I am going to continue to wear throughout the Summer season!

I have had a love hate relationship with these two products. I have always loved the original Lip Kit in Candy from the moment I got it. So much so that I reckon I have worn this pretty much every day since it came in the post. The lipgloss on the other hand is causing me issues! I unfortunately bought the lipgloss on the first release so was in the minority of people who got the dodgy applicator! (which is apparently going to be replaced luckily.) Overall though I love both of these shades. I would say that the Like lipgloss is very similar to Candy in many ways although they don't look like it in the picture above. Both of these products I know I am going to love throughout the Summer.

These next three lipsticks have certainly been left out a little bit recently. I remember using them all of the time last summer and have only used them once or twice each since. First of all, Creme cup is a gorgeous pastel pale pink colour. It is a perfect natural lip and finishes off a summer look amazingly! Next Angel is another favourite of mine. I have worn this under a couple of other lipsticks recently and love the combo, but also love wearing it on its own. The colour is very similar to Candy (Kylie Cosmetics) however is much easier to apply and doesn't need a liner! Finally I absolutely love this lipstick from the Little Mix collection in shade Jade. This lipstick is about two years old now and I don't think that the collection is still available to purchase, but if your looking for an everyday colour then you need to get this! It also leaves a lovely little shine to the lips.

For more of a 'pink' route, I have loved wearing the Clinque chubby stick in shade Super Strawberry. I love how the chubby sticks are moisturising yet very pigmented at the same time. It is certainly the lipstick that I have thrown into my gym bag for a quick makeover after swimming. next is the Kiko 02 Smooth Temptation Lipstick. Oh my goodness this product smells amazing, apply's like butter and looks gorgeous on too. I love to apply this over my Angel lipstick! Finally I love using the Elizabeth Arden High Shine Lipgloss in Golden Pearl over any lipstick to give it a little bit of gloss. It has a gold shimmer throughout which makes it shine when the sun catches it perfectly. Although this is certainly one of my evening lip glosses!

Have you got any favourite lip products that you have been using recently? Is there anything that I missed from my list?
Let me know in the comments and don't forget to leave your URL so I can return the love!
Have a lovely rest of your week!

The Kylie Jenner Lip kit Review!

The moment I have been waiting for has finally arrived!
I was able to get my hands on the Kylie Jenner Lip Kit and I couldn't be happier about it! I was lucky enough to purchase them at the start of February when they were randomly released and sold out in less than 30 minutes. I knew initially when ordering that there was going to be a little wait seeing as I was ordering from the UK. I was impressed with the service though as I had read some reviews of there being hidden costs, but I am happy to share that the price I paid online was all of the costs covered! For anybody ordering from the UK the lip kits come to about £21, which for a lipliner and lipstick works out really affordable. I purchased two kits so together with postage came to £51.42. Right so onto the review...

Can we start off by talking about the gorgeous box that the lip kits come in? I love how well presented it comes and it appears that lots of care, time and effort has gone in to the whole 'Kylie Cosmetics' image. I wasn't expecting it to be as professional looking as it is! My only little worry about the delivery packaging is that it says what products are inside on the front label. This is a little worrying as there were messages of some lip kits going missing! Perhaps this is something they can change to help protect the products seeing how much they are selling for online!

The products come wrapped up nicely in-between two foam sheets which really keep the products secure inside. On top is the iconic Kylie Jenner 'lip' image with a message.

The two colours that I purchased for myself and my brothers girlfriend were Dolce K and Candy K. Both of which were in the original collection launched. My brothers girlfriend had her eye on Dolce K, and I knew that I wanted Candy K from the first moment I saw it! I think Candy K is the classic Kylie lip, so I was excited to try it out! Can we just talk about the boxes? How amazing do they photograph! So perfect for blog photography!

The first thing I noticed when opening the lip kit was how amazing it smells! It smells like candy floss! Both of the lip kits come out true to colour from the tube which is quite often a rare thing when buying a lipstick! One of the best things about this lip kit is how smoothly it applies. The idea of the kit is to line the lips first with the liner and then to fill in the gaps with the liquid lipstick. I have never tried a liquid lipstick before so didn't know what to expect. Initially I thought it was a little bit watery, but after using it for a couple of days I feel this helps the product to spread further and to apply smoothly when turning matte.

I thought I would show how long-lasting the lip kits are so rubbed off the lipstick with my Simple face wipes and found that the liner comes off without much scrubbing, but the lipstick stays put! This can be a good and a bad thing I guess! But for now I love how long lasting it is!

Overall I am so impressed with the Kylie Jenner LipKits. When buying from a 'brand' as big as the Kardashians, you often wonder how much quality has been spared to create a product that millions of people are guaranteed to buy, however this lip kit does feel like effort has been put in. There are a couple of improvements that I think could be made in terms of packaging and consistency but generally it is amazing! I already have my eyes on a couple of the other colours available, but am hoping to get Koko K and Posie when they are next released!

Hope you liked this lip kit review! I loved trying it out!

Let me know if you have tried this out in the comments below!
