Sephora Tarte haul!

It might come as a surprise when I tell you that I have never owned anything from Tarte. I have seen so many beautiful makeup palettes and blogger/youtuber collaborations with the brand, but just never knew where to get it from. Plus it is pretty pricey in the UK. On my recent trip to America, I went into a Sephora where I spent a lot of time trying out different products but not finding anything I liked. As I was about to leave empty handed I spotted the checkout aisle of mini's! I was really surprised at how affordable these products were in the mini form. So I gave in to my temptations and decided to give these two products a try.

First off is this Tartiest lip paint and liner lip contour set. I think the idea of this product is to use the liner on the corners of the lips as well as to line, followed by the lip paint in the middle to create a contour look. I don't want to seem a Debbie downer but I really regret purchasing this! I got caught up in the idea of being able to try two different product in 1 that I didn't try it out. After trying it out when I got back to the hotel I found that the pencil is absolutely rubbish. It doesn't come out easily and when it does you have to apply it very hard to get any product pay off. So thats disappointing. I have been googling and think I am going to give it a little try once its warmed up a little bit to see if that makes any difference. The lip paint however is amazing. I almost wish I had just bought a larger version of it. The lip paint came in shade TBT Mauve. It applies lovely and doesn't feel drying on the lips at all. It is really wearable as well which makes it all that much better. I just wish it was bigger, I may consider repurchasing this!

Next up is the Tartlette Tease limited edition palette. I mean come on, look how pretty this is! I have heard SO many great things about Tarte eyeshadows so I knew that if I was going to try any of them I wanted it to be this. Plus it is in a mini form so came in handy on my travels. The only sad thing about the palette is that one of the shades 'Wink' was smashed when I opened it. That serves me right for not checking in-store. All of the colours in this palette are extremely wearable and it has a strong pleasant smell of vanilla. I just want to eat it up!

I am so pleased with the pigmentation and colour's that are on offer with this palette. Every shade is wearable and there isn't a colour that I wouldn't wear. The darker colours would also be perfect to line the eye if I found myself needing to. It's perfect for travel!

I hope you enjoyed this blogpost. I know I enjoyed spending the money for it!

Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipsticks!

It's probably the right time to admit that I am 100% a lipstick hoarder! But when I saw on Twitter that Urban Decay were doing a deal where you can get the Revolution lipsticks for £9, I simply had to take them up on the offer! I have never tried any Urban Decay lipsticks before, as I had never really been that sold on them before! But I thought that this was such a great opportunity to try them out, and perhaps try something more daring than what I would usually! Another great thing about ordering online is the samples that you can try out for free! I chose the eyeshadow primer, which I consider a classic Urban Decay product, as its something that I have never tried but always wanted to!

The £9 deal was available across all of the Revolution Lipsticks for a limited time only. I am having a little fling at the moment with matte lipsticks. I love how they sit on the lips and I much prefer something that doesn't feel like you are actually wearing it. I was feeling very brave when I purchased them. 'Temper' and 'Tilt' are the reddest shades out of the matte collection, but in my opinion the prettiest! Being a pale person, I always find red colours quite intimidating for me to wear. However I gave them a try and have mixed feelings about them! Temper is the perfect colour for me, It isn't a true red, but it isn't orange. It has the right mixture of the two and is something I can deffo see me wearing as a evening/going out shade in the future. Tilt on the other hand is very orange. I applied this and have found that it isn't as flattering against my skin tone as Temper. With that being said when applied lightly and blended/tapped onto the lips, you can create a more subtle colour which is probably how I will wear this colour.

The matte finish wasn't quite what I had expected, although I am probably comparing it to the finish of the Kylie Lip Kits which are obviously very drying. When I picture a matte I consider it almost a stain and smudge proof, but these lipsticks certainly need touching up after drinking or eating! But a small price to pay for what is a lovely lipstick!

Me wearing Temper on a night out!

Let me know what you think of these lipsticks!
Did you take advantage of the £9 Revolution Lipstick sale!?

NEW IN: KIKO and Sleek lipsticks

Like many of you, I have recently become obsessed with Matte lip products! I think my obsession started when I received my Kylie Lip Kits! I just really love how easy they are to apply, the colour pigmentation you get from them and the fact you don't have to top them up as frequently. I have loved my Kylie Lip Kit in Candy and wanted to try and find a cheaper alternative in the UK which is much easier to get my hands on. I believe these products are new in but they are certainly much easier to get than ordering online from Kylie Cosmetics. Which I am currently in a email battle with for custom charges, but I am sure I will update you more on that soon!

I first heard of these Sleek Matte Me lip-creams from a fellow blogger who I can't for the life of me find the post of now. She had basically got all of the colours and done a really pretty review which to me seemed to good to be true. Now I don't know if I had just got my hopes up for these lip creams but they weren't as amazing as I had imagined! To start with there wasn't that much of a colour range that would be wearable as everyday. I went for a safe option of Shabby Chic which is a lilac/pink shade. It came out really dark on me and not as nude as I was hoping. But the formula is lovely and it sets really quickly. I will probably use this on days when I am not using Candy. Then I got Fired Up, which is in a red tone. This was always going to be a risky version for me, but it just doesn't apply well. I have applied this with both a liner and on its own and I have the same problem of it being too dark and then light in one section. The formula is just not the same to Shabby Chic which is where I feel it has let them down. I am going to give it another attempt soon, so hopefully I get a better outcome!

Then I made a quick stop into KIKO and ended up swatching all of their new products. Firstly I saw the smart lipsticks on display. I fell in love with this shade 913 Rosewood. It is a gorgeous deep rose colour and it smells lovely as well. For the cheap price of £3.90 I wanted to see whether it was just 'cheap' or if it works well. I am in love with it and have worn it lots since! I was then drawn in by the velvet passion collection on display. I got shade 319 which is a purple/brown shade. This is very different to anything I have ever tried before but loved the idea of having a matte lipstick as this is something I haven't tried before. I really love this lipstick also. Although it is dark the purple hint to it makes it not as harsh against my skin. The couple of times I have worn this shade I have been given compliments on it which makes it that much better!

Swatches L-R: (Fired Up, Shabby Chic, 913, 319)
Hope you enjoyed this post and loved my little finds on the matte lipstick front. Although I am still on the search for the perfect matte I have started it off well with these little goodies!

Fugifilm, instax mini 8 review

When I was researching into buying this little camera I found it very hard finding honest reviews. To begin with I bought my camera and film both from Amazon. I was really impressed with the next day delivery option that was free because i ordered before a certain time. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Model-Fuji-Instax-Fujifilm/dp/B009ZM9R4O/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1378462315&sr=8-9&keywords=instax+mini) The camera is costly at £63.75, but was something that I had wanted and worked to treat myself!

The camera itself is a handbag size item that looks smart and has a matte texture that feels nice to hold. I bought the camera in the Pink/Rose colour and can honestly say that the pictures seen on the internet are a true reflection to the product. This camera is something that I have wanted for a while now and finally brought it after recommendation from my tutor that it will be something good for a university fashion student to have!

The package comes with the camera, a strap, 2 AA batteries (which are essential!), a instruction manual and a 1 year limited warranty. The camera takes Instax mini instant colour film, which are about the size of a credit card.

The quality of the images printed and the way that the camera works is amazing. I did not expect the images to be quite as detailed and sharp as they were. When taking the images there are 5 settings that the camera can be adjusted to. This is done automatically and lights up on the one you need to turn the ring towards. This style of point and shoot makes it fun to use and even my mum enjoys taking pictures on it.

Overall it is a easy product to use and has the same beauty of the polaroid (although the pictures are smaller). A negative point on these style of cameras is that the price of the film can be costly, Although I buy my film off of Amazon.co.uk http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujifilm-Shoots-Mini-Instax-Pack/dp/B0000C73CQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378461972&sr=8-1&keywords=instax+mini+film) in a double pack of 2x 10 instead of one lot of 10. I particulary like the fact there is space at the bottom to be able to write your own little comments/notes.

Something I would recommend buying for this camera is a small photo album. Once you have taken the pictures and they have printed (instantly!) they do need to air for a few minutes before putting them away. I found that a few images were ruined by placing them directly into a bag/purse afterwards. I bought a small album that was 25p from Wilkinsons in my town and slide them into the wallets.

Hope this has helped anybody interested in the camera. If there are any questions comment below and i will try my best to help you further.
