Lifestyle || MY week, a recap!

I'm writing this in the most perfect blogging atmosphere ever. Rainy day, sat by the window cosied up with a cup of tea. Today's post consists of my week in the form of OOTDs. I know I've done this once before, but it's certainly about time I gave a little update! I work in a relaxed dress code office where there are literally no boundaries of what you can wear whatsoever! This sounds amazing, but it does often mean my day to day wardrobe becomes quite repetitive as I don't have a separate work/life wardrobe. This week didn't quite turn out how I thought it would, so I'm glad I have this blogpost to look back on! Side note: I apologise in advance for the badly lit photographs! They were all taken at 8am pre work!

Mondays outfit was probably the only one I planned for over the weekend. I have had this H&M shacket for over a month but had debated to and fro whether I was actually going to keep it, or if it was going to be returned. I finally decided that I loved it so Monday I took it out for a spin. This photo doesn't show the whole outfit look as I wore my grey University jumper under with the hood popping out slightly. Monday was going so well until the sad news that my contract at my current position wasn't being renewed which has led to a very anxiety filled/stressful week!

Tuesday Tuesday Tuesday. I decided to choose something a little different today as the rest of my wardrobe had become a little tiresome! Luckily I changed over my summer/winter wardrobe last weekend and I found this little leopard print beauty! I love the cute little tie and it works perfectly with jeans or a dressed up with a leather skirt!

Wednesday. Time for something a little more casual. You can probably notice a little theme by now, but it's so much easier when travelling into London to wear jeans and a cute top. On Wednesday I knew I would be lugging boxes around the office so needed something a little more loose and comfortable.

Thursday consisted of all the casual cosy vibes. On a Thursday I have to commute a little further out to our main head office which is located on the complete opposite side of London (17 central line stops, you feel me!). I always try to wear something comfortable on a Thursday and nothing screams cosy quite like this oversized knit and leather look jeans!

TGIF! Finally Friday. This has been a LOOONNNGGGG week. We have had a rat infestation in our office this week so I was made to trek all the way back to our head office. I'm just pleased I had a cute top to wear that's a little smarter for the head office environment! I've actually had this top for a couple of weeks now and have found it to be the best transitional piece in my wardrobe. I've worn it without a vest, with a vest and shirt open, tucked into jeans and tucked into a slip skirt. It's the best ££ I've spent in ages!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, I know it's very different to the ones I usually post. It didn't really turn out the way I thought it would, and the negative start to the week really threw me off a little but I am pleased that I continued with my OOTD post as it gave me something to think about. Plus I now have a cute selection of outfits to look back on when I need inspo!

Have a lovely week!
Until next time x

Beauty || October Glossybox - Angel or Devil?

Every month another Glossybox arrives on my doorstep and I'm yet again encouraged to pop onto this little space on the internet to delve deeper into what it contains! That is until I remember how sucky my laptop was and how much of a task it was to actually upload images, write a post and hit publish! Well alas, I'm back with a brand new fully functional laptop raring to go! This months box is probably one of my favourites ever, and that's saying something considering there have been some crackers over the years!

So, this months box was, obviously, themed around Halloween with two options of box design - Angel or Devil. There must have been a mistake, considering I am always good as gold, as I was treated to the Red Devil box. Jokes aside, I love the styling of this box and the illustration on the lid looks great! This month I was treated to 5 full size products with an extra tasty treat thrown in for good measure.

First up is a gorgeous warm eyeshadow palette from the brand Stylondon. The palette consists of 9 buttery and highly pigmented shades. The colours range from browns and red with the most perfect base colour. The palette has two shimmery shades which would work perfectly with any look created. Next up is a Lord & Berry lipstick crayon in the shade Devil Red. I have used lipstick pencils before from this brand and have always loved the finish. The benefit of it being in a pencil form allows you to line your lips with the top end first then fill in quickly using the sides. I was excited to see a product from Bubble Tea inside this months box as it's a brand I have always wanted to try but just never got around to buying anything from. The product received is a foaming bath powder, whatever that means! I love a bath, so whatever it does is going to be perfect! Then I received an eyeliner from MCO Beauty, which I will be honest is probably the only dud product in the box this month. I don't ever wear eyeliner, so it's never a product I'm excited to try out. With that being said I know my brothers girlfriend will LOVE this, so it will be heading her way! Next is the Que Bella Beauty professional plumping gold peel off mask. I have never heard of this brand before but I am always game for trying a face mask. This one claims to exfoliate and remove dead cells, leaving you with brighter and more toned skin. This mask also includes real gold powder which is obviously the icing on the cake! The final gift in this weeks box was a Whittards Sticky Toffee Pudding White Hot Chocolate - YUM!

So that's everything from this month's Glossybox, I'm sure you would agree this box is by far one of the best yet and I am so excited to see what will be included in the next one!

That's me signing out for now,

Until next time

Lifestyle || Where have I been?

I know there has already been a few of these 'I'm back' posts on this blog, but hopefully this one will be my last. It's taken me a good couple of weeks to bring myself around to writing this, but I am so happy that I have finally got a few hours to myself, and a fully functional laptop, to pull something together.

This year has been one of the hardest yet. Mentally and physically. I have been struggling. For those who might not be aware, or have missed all of my miserable tweets -soz, my gorgeous cat Luna went missing back in January and truth be told I haven't been the same since. I know how crazy it sounds, and trust me before I owned our two fur babies I wouldn't have understood it myself, but the day Luna went missing a small part of me left with her and my life has been left upside down. It's now October and to this day I struggle to mention her name without me feeling like I am going to burst into tears, something I am trying my best to work on daily! Coming to terms with the Luna hole in my life hasn't been helped by complete strangers constantly phoning reigniting the hope of a reunion that let's be honest probably isn't going to happen anytime soon (although my fingers are always crossed!).

Work has been challenging as well. As someone who suffers with anxiety and finds change a hard thing to deal with, working in fashion PR has been some what of a mountain to climb. I am now in my second year of working within my company and although I still feel anxious every time the phone rings, a press event, meeting people for the first time and travelling into work, I am slowly reaching the other side and starting to feel more comfortable within my position. With this being said, my current contract runs until December and although there have been conversations about me being kept on nothing has been set in stone. For a worrier like myself this is something I am trying not to focus on too much, but it's always in the back of my mind. For now I am trying to put these worries aside and concentrate on other things, hence my sudden return to the blogosphere world.

Blogging has always been something I wanted to do. It took a lot of courage for me to start talking about my blog with IRL people, so for me to just set it aside for months this year has been such a shame. I am a creative person and this blog had always been one of the best outlets for me to release  my emotions and express myself. I can't wait for me to get more involved with the blogging world again and hopefully I will get back to the point where I post every weekend and more to a schedule. For now, I am not going to put too much pressure on. If I want to post every night? I will. If I want to post once a month? I will. I guess what I am trying to say is I want to start blogging for me again rather than for the sake of it. Since I've been gone (cue the Kelly Clarkson hit!) the only social media I have really kept up has been Instagram. I even started a second account to share my love of homeware, something I didn't really delve into on this blog. I am still debating whether I want to keep them separate or if I will at some point merge the two, but for now I am enjoying capturing moments and posting. So what have I been up to? Below is a quick snapshot of the past few months in photo form.

Disneyland Paris with Emma

My gorgeous Alice has really come into her own since Luna has left. She's such a good girl, and completely my little shadow. She has helped to fill the gap her sister left 💔

My brother Daniel, graduated from his Master's this year and I was lucky enough to attend the ceremony.
SO proud of him and all of his achievements! x

Hopefully this gives a little insight into my world for the last months, and we're all caught up. I am genuinely excited to finally get back into it and sharing my love for all things fashion, beauty and lifestyle. This time there will be nothing to stop me from being more open and honest and I hope you enjoy reading my thoughts.

Until next time, hopefully sooner rather than later!

My lovely Luna ❤️
