Beauty || October Glossybox - Angel or Devil?

Every month another Glossybox arrives on my doorstep and I'm yet again encouraged to pop onto this little space on the internet to delve deeper into what it contains! That is until I remember how sucky my laptop was and how much of a task it was to actually upload images, write a post and hit publish! Well alas, I'm back with a brand new fully functional laptop raring to go! This months box is probably one of my favourites ever, and that's saying something considering there have been some crackers over the years! 

So, this months box was, obviously, themed around Halloween with two options of box design - Angel or Devil. There must have been a mistake, considering I am always good as gold, as I was treated to the Red Devil box. Jokes aside, I love the styling of this box and the illustration on the lid looks great! This month I was treated to 5 full size products with an extra tasty treat thrown in for good measure.

First up is a gorgeous warm eyeshadow palette from the brand Stylondon. The palette consists of 9 buttery and highly pigmented shades. The colours range from browns and red with the most perfect base colour. The palette has two shimmery shades which would work perfectly with any look created. Next up is a Lord & Berry lipstick crayon in the shade Devil Red. I have used lipstick pencils before from this brand and have always loved the finish. The benefit of it being in a pencil form allows you to line your lips with the top end first then fill in quickly using the sides. I was excited to see a product from Bubble Tea inside this months box as it's a brand I have always wanted to try but just never got around to buying anything from. The product received is a foaming bath powder, whatever that means! I love a bath, so whatever it does is going to be perfect! Then I received an eyeliner from MCO Beauty, which I will be honest is probably the only dud product in the box this month. I don't ever wear eyeliner, so it's never a product I'm excited to try out. With that being said I know my brothers girlfriend will LOVE this, so it will be heading her way! Next is the Que Bella Beauty professional plumping gold peel off mask. I have never heard of this brand before but I am always game for trying a face mask. This one claims to exfoliate and remove dead cells, leaving you with brighter and more toned skin. This mask also includes real gold powder which is obviously the icing on the cake! The final gift in this weeks box was a Whittards Sticky Toffee Pudding White Hot Chocolate - YUM!

So that's everything from this month's Glossybox, I'm sure you would agree this box is by far one of the best yet and I am so excited to see what will be included in the next one!

Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter- Book Review!

Today's post is a little bit different to my usual ones. I am going to be doing my first ever book review! The book in question is 'Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter' by Louise Peatland (Sprinkle of Glitter for us blog/youtube folk!). Before I start I want to put a little disclaimer out there that these opinions are my own! 

Before I start on the book I just wanted to give a brief introduction to Louise or those who have been living under a rock for the past 5 years! Louise or Sprinkle of Glitter as she is known in our community, is a British Fashion, Lifestyle and Beauty blogger/youtuber. Her blog radiates happiness, self confidence and being positive. Which in some trying times this year I have turned to in hopes to cheer myself up! You can check out her blog HERE!

First of all the whole design of the book is something that I haven't seen before. The front cover features Louise's signature pink style, which I feel sums her up perfectly, I mean aren't we all just in awe of her hair!? A little pot of gold glitter also features on the front cover which makes me SO happy! Oh and don't get me started on the glossy pages and 'that' book smell...AMAZING!. Although this book has been written by Louise it is not an autobiography in the slightest. This is probably what I enjoy most about this book. You can read it page after page or just open it and choose a chapter. The possibilities are endless! The graphics and typography are all spot on as well. Think Pinterest and this book is pretty much there!

A couple of my favourite pages include the chapters on Skincare, Crafts, Body Image and Being Kind. I have no bad things to say about this book. The positivity that comes from reading it is very evident. You can tell that a lot of thought, love and time has been put into each individual page which really shows! I thoroughly enjoyed reading every page of this book and know that I am going to flick through the chapters when I need to!

The Disney Tag

With my excitement for going on my trip to Disneyland Paris in October I thought I would start of my little series of Disney related posts by completing the Disney Tag! I came across this on youtube the other evening whilst watching Disneyland Paris videos and thought it would be a fun thing to do over here on my blog. I tag everybody who reads this to do this little tag! Leave your answers in the comment section below! I would love to hear them! (For full list of questions check them out at the end of this post).

1. Name a scene in a Disney movie you wish you could experience
My favourite scene out of all of my favourite Disney movies has to be the paper lantern scene in Tangled. I think it would be such a lovely moment to be watching all of the lights floating up to the sky. I so wish that you could do this over here in the UK! 

2. Name an unforgettable experience or moment you’ve had at the parks
The best experience of going to any Disneyland park is experiencing the castle for the first time. I have only been to Disneyland Paris and I loved the castle so much! Also when you enter the park by car and you have to go under the huge 'Welcome to Disneyland Paris' sign. That was pretty magical!

3. What non-Disney song reminds you or brings back memories of Disney and/or the parks?
I can't think of a non-Disney song. I can think of a Disney song! I would have to say 'Happy Halloween' out of 'The nightmare before christmas', because that song was played continually througout the parks when we visited the first time!

4. When was the first time you went to a Disney park?
I first visited Disneyland Paris when I was 12 and we went at Halloween. So we had all of the exciting Halloween decorations and characters were jumping out on you. It was amazing! 

5. If you could choose any of the characters to be your best friend, who would you choose?
I would choose Ariel so we could go swimming all day everyday! 

6. Who are your favorite Disney Princesses?
My Favourite princesses' are Cinderella and Belle. 

7. Name a scene/moment in any Disney movie that never fails to make you cry?
The opening scene of UP always gets to me. But Disney Classic films wise it has to be when Andy gives his toys away in Toy Story 3..Ahhh emotional! 

8. What is the first Disney movie you remember seeing?
As a young child I was always a Winnie-The-Pooh fan. I still am! I used to have Winnie-The-Pooh bedding, towels, pjs, clothes and toys. I was obsessed! The first proper film I saw in the cinema was The Tigger Movie! 

9. What is your favorite Disney movie?
My favourite changes daily. I am currently buying all of the Disney classics and falling in love with a new one each day. I think though that my favourite is either Beauty and the Beast or Sleeping beauty. But then again I love Frozen..I can't decide! 

10. Who is your favorite Disney villain?
I think my favourite villain has to be Cruella De Ville, although I am not sure she counts as a proper villain. I used to watch '101 Dalmatians' all the time when I was round my grandma's house and then loved the second film, 'Patch's London Adventure'.

11. What is your least favorite Disney movie?
My least favourite is probably 'Alice in wonderland'.

12. What Disney character do you think you’re most like?
I think I am most like Rapunzel. I like to do creative things in my own space but I also like pretty things, like the lights! Also my hair is really long! 

13. What is your favorite ride at Disneyland?
I have been dreading this question! I have never been to Florida. But in Paris my favourite rides are Crush's Coaster, Buzz Lightyear's space mission, Space mountain and Big Thunder Mountain. But out of them all I think Buzz Lightyear's ride is the best!

Disneyland Paris!

If you didn't already tell by the name of this blogpost but I am going to Disneyland Paris in October! My whole family is going and this is probably going to be the last time that we are going to go as a family, which means that we need to make the holiday worthwhile. One of the things that many people who know me personally realise about me is that I am a HUGE Disney fan. When others watch horror films, I watch a cute Disney one. Words just can't explain how excited I am to go. 

October seems so far away but I know that it will come around quicker than I realise. I have lots of plans for my blog in the run up and the follow up from the trip including my favourite rides, places to eat and what I am taking with me, who doesn't love a Disney haul?!?!

I have been lucky enough to go to Disneyland Paris 3 times in the past and have had different experiences each time. The whole atmosphere of the parks make you feel like a child again, and the magic of the music and parades is unforgettable. 

I can't wait to go and can't wait to share my experiences with you all on here!

Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty

This post is something little different to one that I have done before on my blog as it is more of a review/report on an exhibition rather than the usual haul/product review that I have done in the past. 

As soon as I heard that the savage beauty exhibition was coming to the V&A museum I knew I had to attend. Alexander McQueen has always been one of my favourite British designers, although I don't always agree with the method that was behind his madness. I booked my tickets back in October and I am glad that I did because they sold out very quickly. I think it is nearly impossible to prebook now and you can only really get tickets on the door if you are there early enough. 

I tried to stay clear of any reviews and photographs before I went to the exhibition as I didn't want anything to influence my opinion, however I did hear on the radio that people were disappointed with it. I have to say I was overwhelmed and amazed at the same time at how brilliant I thought it was. 

The only bad thing is that your not allowed to take pictures when you go into the exhibition. This was a little annoying for me as one of the reasons why I went was because I had to put my research into my sketchbook. There are however plenty of pictures online which will support my work. 

One thing that I can say is that the McQueen exhibition was nothing like any fashion exhibition I have been too before. I don't really want to ruin anybody's outlook on the exhibition as I know how annoying it is to give teasers to things like this. 

The exhibition as a whole was very well curated and put together. The dresses were easy to look at and there was lots of content from different collections. One of my favourite parts was where you can see the dress that was famously spray painted at one of his catwalk shows. At another part of his exhibition you walk into a room that is top to bottom of shoes, hats, dresses and props that at some point had been used in a McQueen show. 

I really suggest you go and check out Savage Beauty at the V&A you really don't want to miss it!
