Beauty || Kylie Cosmetics Chill Baby Palette Review

I think the last time I sat down to write a blogpost was over two months ago! The phrase 'Life gets in the way' can certainly apply to my world recently. But here I am, feeling refreshed after Christmas with the 2019 goal to restart and keep up with my blog!

I've been really excited to share this blogpost, so it's honestly a wonder that I haven't set 'publish' on it sooner! Ever since Kylie Cosmetics announced the launch of eyeshadow palettes to her makeup line, I knew it was a product that I wanted to try for myself. Now that I'm in a better position financially, full time work has some advantages!, I thought it was a good time to try and get hold of a palette for myself. The 2018 holiday collection was full of various products ranging from eyeshadow, lipstick sets, highlighters and pressed powders all wrapped up in blue metallic snowflake packaging. I decided to go for the Chill Baby palette and eagerly awaited my parcel to arrive. After about a month, honestly I don't understand why it takes so long and so much extra money to get hold of, the palette arrived in my hands and my experimenting began!

First of all the palette itself, like most Kylie Cosmetic products, is SO pretty! I wouldn't say the layout/design is completely unique in that it looks very similar to ABH products I have seen online, but the colours certainly are. Chill Baby comes with 14 gorgeous shades that make up the perfect holiday/winter palette. There are 7 matte and 7 shimmers that all work together beautifully to create eye looks. Some of my favourite shades have to be 'Just Chill', 'Pray For Snow', 'Home Alone', 'Wrap It Up' and 'Plum Pudding'. The pigmentation of these shades are better than I had expected, although there is certainly some things that need improving if the palette is to become one of my ultimate favourites. The matte shades apply smoothly and when applied over a base are really long lasting, however it's the shimmer's where I have the most problems. They aren't terrible, but they're just not overwhelmingly great! I've found them to apply nicely with a finger, for them to then lose all of the shimmer once blended in with a brush. I don't mind this factor completely as I've been using the shimmer shades as a final touch, but if you're going for an all glitter eye then this could cause problems! 

Overall, I am really pleased with this palette and although I wouldn't necessary purchase this same one again I would certainly be interested in getting one of the classic all matte ones. If only they would sort out the darn customs charges added to every single order...

Fashion | Femme Luxe Clothing Haul & Review!*

I love the summer, don't get me wrong, but nothing beats how great winter fashion is. Being able to wrap up in comfortable jumpers, jeans and coats makes me so happy. Winter is definitely one of my favourite times of the year so it's no wonder that I've already begun transitioning my wardrobe in preparation for the climate change! 

I was so excited to have received an email from the lovely team at Femme luxe to try out a few of their knitwear pieces. Over the last couple of weeks I've seen the brand float around the blogosphere so was really intrigued into trying out some of the clothes for myself.  I excitedly picked out three separate pieces and eagerly waited for them to turn up on my doorstep. 

The first thing I picked were the Carolina Beige Leopard Print High Waisted Skirt Shorts in 8/10. If you've seen my blogpost all about my obsession with leopard print recently, then this choice won't come as a big surprise at all! On the website these shorts are paired with a black cropped jumper and bare legs. I thought however that they would look nice styled with a pair of thick black tights, boots and a warm knit. I love how this looks when styled and know I'm going to get good use out of them. 

Next up was the Eden Cream Loose Fit Crop Knitted Jumper in Small. I had been looking for an oversized jumper for a while before I found this as  wanted one to wear with a pair of jeans for a casual daytime look. When I saw this online I knew it would be perfect! First thing to note about this jumper is how incredibly soft it is! I didn't have many expectations, but didn't expect the quality to be as good as this is. I have already worn this a couple of times now including with the leopard skort and my favourite white leopard skirt, can you spot a theme! The way the jumper has been designed makes for easy styling as it has cut out sides that make it hang nicely on the body. I am obsessed with this and think I am going to go back and reorder in the pink too! 

The final jumper I ordered was the Grey Cable Knit Jumper in Small. I wanted a cropped jumper to wear with a high waisted denim/leather skirt so thought this would be perfect. The quality of this jumper isn't as soft as the Cream, but it looks just as nice when being worn. Again, I know I am going to get a lot of use out of this in the weeks to come! 

Overall, my whole experience with ordering through the Femme Luxe website has been great. The website itself has lots of products on offer that are bang on trend with what you can get on the high street. I already have my eyes on a couple of other things I want to get next including the jumper in Pink and the cute two piece tracksuit sets!

Lifestyle || HP Sprocket Review

I have always had a love for photography, infact my very first blogpost was a review of the Fugifilm Instax camera, so it was probably about time that this smart little device made it's way into my life and then onto this blog too! I had been dreaming of owning the Sprocket for such a long time but never got around to purchasing it myself, so when I opened it on Christmas day last year I was over the moon! 

If you have never heard of this nifty little pocket printer before and are into photography, crafts or generally printing out your photographs then this is the device for you. The sprocket is honestly the pocket printer that you never knew you needed, but are kind of glad you own! I won't lie, the prints aren't always the best, but it works perfectly for my needs and I enjoy the simplicity of setting it up to connect with a mobile device! 

The Sprocket that I was lucky to receive was the rose gold gift set. As well as receiving the white and rose sprocket printer, the gift set also included a cute little photo album, rose gold Sprocket case and a pack of photo paper. I love the sleek, smooth design of the Sprocket and the rose gold features on my printer add a really pretty and delicate touch. One of the best features about the Sprocket, and probably a reason why I am now favouring this over my Instax camera, is the ability to edit and decide what images you want to print. Gone are the days where you have to use up all 10 films to capture one image. Using the Sprocket is so easy which makes the whole process quite enjoyable! After downloading the Sprocket app, and connecting your phone to the Sprocket's bluetooth network, the Sprocket is ready to go! The app itself has been designed really well too. As you open the app you are greeted with your phones camera roll. You select the image you want to 'edit' and begin the printing process.  

Editing the images is one of the best parts of the whole process. You can, obviously, print the image as it is straight from the phone making it more of a natural shot. Alternatively you can edit the colours, add a pretty filter or pop on some stickers before clicking the printer icon to have it sent to your sprocket device via bluetooth. Sprocket update the stickers that you can select quite often so if your for example celebrating Christmas, you can add lots of borders and stickers to reflect this in your images - honestly, it's much cooler than I am making it out to be! 

As you can see from the image above the printer quality isn't always the best, but it isn't rubbish and it does a great job of making the print as true to your edit as possible. 

I am sure that there are other printers on the market which would work better than the Sprocket, but for me it's just the device I wanted. One of the main downsides of owning the Sprocket, and probably the same downside of owning any device of this kind, is the price it takes to refill the paper. Although the paper is on offer a lot of the time on Amazon, it is still quite pricey for only 10/20/50 images. With that being said though, it makes you really decide on the photos that you want to have printed which can only be a good thing! 

So what can you use the Sprocket for I hear you ask? Well... there are many many uses for your prints thanks to the sticky back paper. For me, I wanted to use the Sprocket to document and journal. Instead of keeping all of my images in the little photo album all the time, I have purchased a small sketchbook from Paperchase that I have been using to put the prints in at the end of each month. Perhaps at some point I will share that on here too!

Beauty || Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette

I've been a 'working' girl for over 5 months now, so it's hard to believe that this is the first beauty splurge I have purchased, does that mean I am finally growing up? probably not! I was in London last weekend shopping with my cousin, when we decided to pop into  the Selfridges beauty department. By 'pop' I actually mean spending about an hour lusting over all the luxury products that neither of us could afford but wanted anyway! We came across the Zoeva stand and both of us fell in love with the products. Usually I purchase makeup if I have read a great review on it, seen it mentioned in magazines or generally if I have had my eye on it for a while. So purchasing this was a complete whim for me, but I am so glad that I did. After many swatches later the Cocoa Blend palette was mine and I have been enjoying playing around with it ever since.

The first thing that excited me about this palette was the gorgeous shimmery cranberry shade named 'warm notes'. This shade is extremely pigmented and was something I wanted to experiment and play around with! A couple of other favourite shades in the palette are 'Freshly Toasted', 'Substitute For Love' and 'Pure Ganache' which is a gorgeous golden shimmery shade. The pigmentation of this palette is something that I haven't really experienced before from a 'cheaper' eyeshadow palette. By cheaper I mean £18 compared to the Naked palette price of £39.50. If you have read my blog before, then you would note that I love the Urban Decay Naked palettes as well as the Too Faced Peach Palette. These are still firm favourites of mine, but the Zoeva palette fits right in with them for a fraction of the price.

Overall, it's safe to say that I am already such a big fan of this palette. I love that you are able to use this palette to create such different looks - this makes it perfect for travelling. The pigmentation is perfect and lasts all day. I applied the makeup in the images above at lunchtime and took the final image of my eye at 11pm that night. Not only is my eyeliner still on (thanks Soap and Glory), but my eyeshadow stayed put also without any creasing! Another positive of this palette is the price tag. For £18 you get a lot for your money. I would have been prepared to pay at least £25 for this beauty.

Yay it's finally December which means the Christmas season is finally in full swing! This December marks the first year post education, so I have been working really hard to earn some money to buy the perfect gifts for my family. Out of everyone, my brother to me is by far the hardest person to buy for. The headphones operate under a bluetooth connection so they are compatible with any devices which can operate in this way also. They also hold a 9 hour battery life which is amazing! 

I gave them to my brother early to test and try out and he absolutely loves them. He finds them easy to use, and likes that he has a leather case to hide them away and keep them safe when he is done with them. He has worn them a couple of times to the gym and finds them secure and comfortable for the duration of his work out.
