Beauty: June Favourites!

Oh June! What a lovely, sunny and brilliant month you have turned out to be. Who would have thought back a couple of months ago to the cold and wet weather of March, that we would have an amazing warm start to the summer! With the weather set to continue until at least the middle of August, it's getting me all excited for my summer holiday. Right putting my weather reporter hat away, lets get talking all things June favourites! Throughout the whole of June I have been using such a combination of makeup and beauty products that I know are going to continue throughout the whole summer.

Benefit Porefessional
This has been my makeup primer of choice for the last couple of years. It's also one of the only products that I've tried that genuinely works for my skin type. I apply this as a base under my makeup, but you can also apply it over makeup too. Benefit also sell a little Porefessional duo with a full size and mini version which is going to be perfect for my summer holiday to Italy!

Love Lola Matte Lipstick
I've always been a big fan of matte lipstick, and much prefer it to a more glossy/satin one throughout the summer season. I was recently sent two products from the brand Love Lola to try out and I have been using them a lot! I was sent a true red shade in 03 Desire and a raspberry dark pink in 02 Strawberry Peck. Both of these lipsticks apply smoothly to the lips and allow you enough time to actually coat lips smoothly before setting matte. I love each of the shades as well, as they're perfect for both day and night occasions (plus, they look nice when blended together too!).

Pixi by Petra - Large Lash Mascara
Now, this wouldn't be a favourites post of mine without me mentioned a Pixi product somewhere. If you've been reading my blog recently, you would already know that this is my favourite mascara of the moment. I love how easy it is to apply to your lashes without appearing clumpy. As well as how much difference it makes when it's being worn. Over the last year of using this, I have noticed a difference in how my lashes have looked once the mascara has been removed. So not only does this mascara look nice when worn, it also doesn't leave product when removed! Two big thumbs up from me!

Mac Soft & Gentle Mineralise Skin Finish
If you're on the look out for a highlighter to give you a subtle glow without looking too heavy or 'in your face' then this is the product for you. I had seen so many bloggers raving about it and wanted to test it out for myself. I've been using it since the middle of February and it still looks untouched despite being a firm favourite in my collection!

So there we have it. A random selection of a few favourites throughout the month of June.
I would love to know what you've been loving throughout June?

Until next time,

Lifestyle || My February Favourites

Why is it that January always seem's to be about 8 years long, but February goes by in the blink of an eye? Considering that February is my birthday month, it's just not fair! Anyway enough of my moaning and onto the meaning of this weeks post... my February favourites. This month I have discovered a few fashion secrets, that aren't so much of a secret, continued my love for my newest eyeshadow palette and fallen back in love with reading. Lets dive into the post...

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette
This palette has slowly become one of my most used this month. The shades work so well together, and I have really enjoyed feeling a little bit braver by using the cranberry tone in the outer corner of the eye. There are so many looks I am yet to try from this palette and I can't wait to use the gorgeous purple and cranberry shade together... will I be brave enough to document this on Instagram? Only time can tell!

Zara Kids
Yep, you read that right...Zara Kids. To be even more exact, Zara Kids SALE.Since Christmas I have lost quite a bit of weight which has allowed me to actually enjoy shopping again. At the beginning of February I went shopping in my nearest Zara where I accidentally tried on a couple of T-shirts which were placed within the TRF section. To my surprise, they fitted nicely and were extremely comfortable, not to mention the fact they were both £2.99! Since then I have actually started to look more in the children departments of stores, because why not. The clothes that are on offer for children at the moment are equally as fashionable and at half the price.

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
It's been a long time since I've been excited about reading so I am so eager to share this little beauty. On a completely spontaneous trip to Waterstones at the beginning of the month I noticed this book as being the 'pick of the week' and was really intrigued. After reading the synopsis I knew it was for me and I've been hooked ever since. The storyline is about a lady called Eleanor Oliphant who lives a pretty routined life. That is until she meets her 'love at first sight' musician on a night out and makes it her mission to change herself to be 'perfect' for him. I am currently half way through the book so can't give it a full review, but know this is going to be a feature on this very blog when it's done.

HP Sprocket
I was extremely lucky to have been gifted the HP Sprocket, Rose Gold Limited Edition set as a Christmas present and have loved it ever since. I enjoy photography, and have enjoyed using my Instax camera. However one of the minuses, and at times positives, about the Instax camera is the 'rawness' of taking photos. You can often take 2/3 Instax shots if your trying to capture something perfectly which ends up being quite expensive. With the Sprocket you're able to edit the photographs before printing giving you the ability to double check you're happy with them. I love that you can add writing and stickers to images but also love the 'polaroid' factor to printing. -I've got a whole post coming on this soon so stay tuned!

Nike Internationalist Premium Trainers
Can we just spend a moment or two to look at how pretty these trainers are... I mean, rose gold/pink trainers are everything! I've never really been a trainer person and would much rather pop on a pair of boots or flats to wear in a casual setting. After noticing this space in my wardrobe I started my hunt for the perfect ones. That sounds more dramatic than it was, I literally searched on Nike for about an hour to find these, but as soon as I saw these I fell in love with them and have worn them so much.

There are just a few of my favourite things that I have been loving throughout the month of February! Let me know if you've been enjoying any of the same things!

Until next time,

Lifestyle: September Favourites

The month of September was always a tricky one for me. As a child it meant returning to school after an amazing summer holiday, growing up it meant starting a new chapter of my life by starting at a new university and now it's brought a whole new concept of change to my life. This year marks the very first September month of no education, and although I thought I would be so excited about this I haven't really taken to the change great at all. On the plus side, since graduating from university I have already had so many amazing experiences through working within different companies and learnt so much more than I thought I would.

Anyway, onto the main point of this blogpost. My September Favourites! As I mentioned a little bit above, I undertook work experience in a couple of places which meant commuting into London for most of the Summer. During this time I discovered some of these favourites that I found myself reaching for and can't wait to share!

Elle Magazine
I have been a subscriber to Elle magazine for the last 3 years. Nothing beats a little fashion read on a Sunday evening with a cup of tea. The last couple of issues have been particularly interesting and enjoyable to me thanks to the new creative director. As much as I hate change, this change of look, style and imagery within Elle looks amazing! The last two cover stars have been Cara Delevigne and Rihanna and they both looked absolutely gorgeous on the cover!

Zara Snoopy Camo Jacket
If you didn't catch one of my latest blogposts then you might not have spotted this gorgeous little Snoopy jacket! I actually bought this in Cyprus in the Zara sale and have been wearing it constantly over the last month. My favourite styling of it is with a pair of denim jeans and slouchy V neck shirt underneath. I also wore this jacket on my recent visit to Buckingham palace, so it really is fit for royalty!

Dune London Handbag
So as mentioned above, I was lucky to secure two work placements over the Summer. One of them was working for Dune London within their press team. I still can't believe that I was allowed the opportunity to work with such a well known brand and I learnt so much in such a short amount of time that will help me to secure future jobs. Whilst I was at Dune, I was invited to one of the sample sales. OMG what a sale it was! Amongst the 4 BIG bags of stuff that I had to struggle with on the tube in rush hour, was this gorgeous glittery pink cross body bag with two interchangeable straps. I will admit I was a total magpie and spotted this from a mile off - I guess it's the Essex girl in me!

Victoria Secret Pink Body Spray in Warm and Cozy
Travelling in and out of London is never fun, especially in the Summer. One thing I always had in my handbag was this little body mist to keep myself smelling fresh. This is one of my favourite scents from the Pink range, and I love how homely it smells. As someone who feels a little homesick at times this spray comes in handy for making myself feel comfortable!

3INA Eye Shadow in 313 and NYX Cosmetics Highlighter in Narcissistic
For beauty, this month I have been finding myself reaching for these products most times when applying makeup. I love how easily both of these products apply which makes them perfect to do on the go. The 3INA shadow is a gorgeous bronze shade that allows you to blend onto the eye smoothly. Once applied the shadow sets and doesn't budge at all. I have loved using this with the more bronzed tones in my Peach Palette for an everyday look. Next let's talk about this beautiful NYX Highlighter. This was another product that I picked up in Cyprus and have been completely obsessed with! Initially I was a little bit disappointed with the colour pay off, although now I have used it a couple of times I have found it looks gorgeous in the brow bone and inner corners of the eyes. The peachy tone to the highlight really suits my skin tone and I just generally love to apply it!

Pandora Princess Ring
My final favourite for this month has to be my Pandora Princess ring. This was the final thing I purchased in Cyprus Airport before flying home and I am in love with it. I know I am a little behind the trend with this one, but I just couldn't help myself. This ring is now a staple within my wardrobe and not one day has gone by since that I haven't been wearing it.

I hope you enjoyed reading what a few of my favourites were for September. Like always, there could have been 1093028 things in this post but I wanted to keep it short and sweet!

Until next time,

Lifestyle : Holiday Favourites!

It feels like months since I last sat down and wrote a post, when in reality it has only been a couple of weeks! I have just got back from the most amazing two weeks in sunny Cyprus with my family. We had such an incredible time, and a lot of it was spent chilling or swimming- two of my favorite things to do! Stupidly I thought that whilst away I would have easy access to WIFI so didn’t schedule/write any posts to go live. The little blogging break has done me a world of good though, and I am excited to finally get back into it!

Today’s post is a little round up of all the products that I have been loving over the last two weeks when on holiday. I packed so many makeup products that I thought was something I would need, when in reality, thanks to the heat, I reached for the same ones every night!

Firstly I need to begin with my new favourite perfume/body spray. I got this a couple of months ago in a Glossybox and used it once or twice before setting it aside when reaching for my normal one. This L’eau De Rose smells exactly as you would imagine it to. Floral scents aren’t usually what I go for but this just smells fresh and light which is perfect for a summer holiday. A few little spritz of this before going out in the evening and you’re good to go. The next product is a lipstick that I have probably mentioned a hundred times already on this blog. I am of course talking of my classic ‘Super Cindy’ Charlotte Tilbury lipstick. This is my classic everyday go to shade. As you can tell, I need to get a new one as soon as possible! This lipstick applies beautifully to the lips giving a long lasting and comfortable finish. I threw this Miley Cyrus MAC lipglass into my makeup bag in a last minute panic when packing for my trip and thought I wouldn’t actually wear it as much as I have. When at home I steer well clear of lipgloss often preferring something with more of a matte finish. However, on holiday nothing beats a little bit of gloss on the lips to protect them from the sun. Plus with my go to ponytail holiday hair do I don’t have to worry about getting lipgloss in my hair!

When researching the climate for Cyprus I knew it was going to be warm, I didn’t however realize it would be as hot as it was. Most of the days were above 30, so you can be assured there was a lot of ‘shine’ going on! To combat this I turned to my Collection Loose Powder to mattify the skin a little in the evenings. I have been using this powder a lot recently and am so impressed with how good it is for the minimal price. I have also been applying it with my Real Techniques sponge which is equally as brilliant. My next favourite is kind of a sneaky one in the sense I actually purchased this whilst being here. Although we can now get NYX in the UK, I never seem to have visited a store/stand in person. Emma (my brothers girlfriend) and I went into the NYX store and we both agreed that this highlighter in shade Narcissistic is the most beautiful thing that we ever set our eyes on. I mean just look at it! I have been using this on the inner corners, as well as on the brow bone and cheeks.

For the eyes I found myself reaching for the Too Faced Peach Palette. This palette is perfect for creating a natural ‘no makeup makeup’ look and to me looks like the ultimate Summer palette. All of the shades are easy to blend which makes it so simple to create a look without having to put in a lot of effort. For the brows I kept to my usual routine and used my favourite Benefit Goof Proof brow pencil. Brows are the one part of my makeup routine which I never change up. For now, this product works perfectly for me! For mascara I have loved using Perversion from Urban Decay. This makes such a change from my usual favourite They’re real, but it made my lashes look just as amazing.

So there are all my favourite products from my recent trip away. Like always, I took so much more makeup with me than I needed. If I had only realised that the small number of products mentioned above would do me fine!

What do you take away with you on holiday? Do you have any stand out products?

Until next time

Beauty : April Beauty Favourites

I can't quite believe that we are nearing the end of April. These past few months have been so busy with university work that they seem to be flying by! Talking of university, it's crazy to think that in the matter of a week I will finally be finished with education forever! Education and I haven't really been the best of friends, although I'm sure that's a story I should save for another time.

This month I have been using a variety of different products from old favourites to new loves! With the recent change of weather, we all know how long that isn't going to last!, my makeup has also changed and I have been favouring the more orange toned eyeshadows. I have also changed how I have been applying my makeup, making it feel lighter and less heavy on the skin. Anyway, here are a few of the products I have been reaching for a lot this month!

Primark Lip Kits
If you didn't see THIS blogpost, then you may not know about these lipsticks. Primark have really started to make their own little mark in the beauty world recently and a lot of their products are quickly becoming blogger favourites! I have tried two of the four colours, but this shade (Cookie Dough) has been my go to this month and I have been reaching for it more than my MAC and Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks! The formula is perfect and doesn't leave your lips feeling dry or patchy. I love that I can apply this in the morning before uni and know that it will still be there when I get home, it's honestly that good!

Too Faced Peach Palette
It's probably no surprise that this palette is making an appearance in this favourites post! Out of all the eyeshadow palettes that I own, this peach palette is the one that I have been using the most. I have been loving using this to create a gorgeous peach eye for both daytime and evening looks. Every shade within the palette is really pigmented and are really easy to blend onto the eyes. Oh and the peach smell is a bonus too!

Victoria Secret PINK Body Lotion
Ok, so I have been OBSESSING over this body lotion this past month. I was kindly given this as a gift from my mum and dad for my birthday and have loved it ever since. I have been applying this after my bath/shower and feel like it leaves my skin feeling moisturised for a really long time. It also has a vanilla scent which smells really comforting. You can also get a body spray version of this product which I also have and love to use them together! Plus, how cute does the matte pink packaging look.

Boots Witch Hazel Stick
So this product is one that I have heard a lot about, tried in the past, but always forgot to repurchase! The idea behind it is you apply the clear cream on spots or blemishes during the day, and then apply the other cream on the blemish area's during the nighttime. Being a big night time sudocreme fan, I can't really comment much on the night side of the product, but the daytime one tingles a little when you apply which makes me feel like it's doing something! I have noticed a visible difference from the start of the day to the end when I have used this product, so I will continue to use it and let you know how I get on!

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray
This product has made its return in my life thanks to the summer weather! I used this spray throughout the summer last year and loved how it made my skin feel. To use the product you do your face makeup as usual and then when finished mist the product in an S motion to set it. I love this product and it really does the job, although I don't tend to use it if I am using my powder foundation for obvious reasons!

Real Technique Stippling Brush and Setting Brush
I mean this wouldn't really be a favourites post without including a Real Techniques brush right!? After receiving the huge gift set of brushes at Christmas, I have been trying them all out deciding what products I prefer to use them with. To apply my foundation I have been using the Stippling brush in circular motions. I found that this was the best way to get an even coverage and it blends the product nicely into the skin without picking up to much on the brush. I have also been using the small Setting brush to wipe off the powder in the under eye area when setting my skin. Plus, these brushes are so SO soft - double bonus!

Collection Sheer Loose Powder
I know I am well behind the times with this favourite, but this month I finally decided to try out  the baking trend! I have seen lots of different bloggers writing about how amazing this collection powder was so thought I would get it and give it a go. I am so impressed with the result it gives to the skin, and can't believe that I haven't tried it before! This powder can also be used as a base product, so it's not fully translucent. I haven't used it as a base yet though, so can't give my opinions on this but stay tuned!

Those are just a few of my favourite things from April! My list could be SO much longer, but I decided to keep it short and edited! Let me know if you love any of these products too!

Until next time,
