Beauty : Lush Boxing Day Sales!

Ask anyone who knows me, and they will tell you that I probably spend the majority of my evenings relaxed in a bath, with a Lush bath bomb fizzing away around me! Nothing beats a warm bath with Lush products after a busy day. One thing that Lush do well in my opinion are their Christmas products. Every year I get excited to see their latest wacky ideas and it's something I always look forward too. One thing about Lush that often puts me off going spend crazy on all of my favourites, is the price tag. (I mean £4.25 on a one use bath bomb, puh-lease!)

Unless you have been living under a rock then you probably saw the whirlwind that was the Lush boxing day sale. Everyone and their mum seemed to be tweeting about it, myself included, so it was only fitting that I attempted to pick up some of my favourite Christmas products that I had been putting off getting at full price (I mean 50% off!). The sale went live on the Lush website at 10pm Christmas day. I went online at 10:05 and was put into a queue, a queue that I didn't actually manage to get to the front of! (I understand how good it must look for Lush to have a demand for their products, but c'mon! They should have expected the rush of customers who would be rushing to their website at once.)

So after giving up, I decided to pop to a physical Lush store in my town. I expected it to be packed, so was happily surprised that I managed to get everything that I wanted without actually meeting another customer in store (talk about a comparison to online!).

So onto my little haul...

Snow Fairy - Orig £3.95 - Paid £1.97
Father Christmas Bath Bomb - Orig £3.75 - Paid £1.87
Stardust Bath Bomb - Orig £2.95 - Paid £1.47
Northern Lights - Orig £3.95 - Paid £1.97
Butter bear - Orig £1.95 - Paid £0.97
Golden Wonder - Orig £4.25 - Paid £2.12

I'm so pleased that I managed to get into the store in the end. The whole website drama was winding me up, and I loved that I was able to shop with ease in my own time and at my own pace! The Lush sale is truly the only Boxing day sale that I get excited about shopping in!

Did anyone else manage to get any of the Lush products in the sale?

Blogmas Day 26 : Boxing Day Special!

Surprise!

I had initially thought about finishing my Blogmas series with the Christmas Day post, however I think one more is necessary to finish it all of right. So this post will be my BIG Christmas and Boxing day blog post full of a couple of images that I have taken to remember the day. I hope you enjoy! X

Hope you had a happy Christmas and have a happy new year!

Blogmas Day 24 : Christmas Eve Traditions

blogmas day twenty four

I can’t quite believe that it’s Christmas Eve! No matter what age I am, the magic and excitement of the few hours before Christmas will never change! I’m really lucky to have quite a close family, so we tend to spend Christmas Eve the same way every year, with a few bits changing here and there the older my brother and I have got.

Christingle
Ever since I was little, my family and I would all go to the Christingle service at my local church on Christmas Eve. There was always something quite magical about walking there in the frost bundled up in coats watching the twinkling of the fairy lights. I’m sure when I was little, I was probably more excited at the fact I was allowed to be up late at night. The Christingle service itself is just so lovely with lots of families joining in with carols as a way of celebrating together. Growing up in a Christian family, Christmas always meant that little bit more to us, so it’s nice to take time out of our day to celebrate that on Christmas Eve.

Christmas PJ’s
This is a relatively new tradition for my mum and I. We both love to snuggle down in a pair of super cute Christmas jammies. The past couple of years I have bought us matching PJ set’s for us to wear to bed on Christmas Eve. To go with the PJ’s I also remake my bed so I have a fresh pair of linen for the night. I do this with the aim to fall asleep from the comfort, although this never happens as I am far to excited!

Christmas present wrapping
Since I can remember, my dad and I have always spent Christmas Eve wrapping up my mums and brothers presents. My dad works so hard during the week and never has a lot of time to wrap his presents, so we love to do it together. Plus, I have to make sure he takes the price off of everything!

Christmas movies
Watching a good Christmas movie is a must on Christmas Eve. The Grinch is a particular favourite of mine as it just reminds me so much of my childhood. I wish I could get away with decorating my house as OTT as the who’s do!

blogmas day twenty four

Let me know if you have any Christmas Eve traditions! It’s nice to be able to look back on how different things get each year whilst doing the same thing. For us, we pretty much keep things the same, although instead of going home after the Christingle, we head down to the pub.

I hope you have a very merry Christmas spent with everyone you care about the most!

Happy Christmas!

Blogmas Day 23 : Perfect Christmas Dinner Table Setting

Ahh! 2 more sleeps until Christmas, that can only mean one thing!

IT’S CHRISTMAS EVE EVE!

This is probably the first year that I have been so excited for Christmas day for a long time. I have just genuinely enjoyed feeling the festivities that Blogmas has had to offer me this year. I have also really enjoyed reading and discovering lots of new bloggers each day. So many great posts!

Today’s post is one that I personally love reading. Home decoration is probably one of my favourite things to look at and do. When it comes to Christmas day everything usually revolves around food. So making the table setting special is something that my mum and I really like to do. We really like to think of new ideas every year, which can sometimes be quite difficult!

Initial place settings
This is the place setting that we used last year. My mum and I found these gift tag initials in Marks and Spencer’s and decided to place them on the table on Christmas day. We used the gold initials for the ladies, and silver for the men. Thinking back I wish that we had attached them to the bottom of a wine glass, or wrapped around the cutlery. Oh well! Maybe next year!

Chocolates
Another thing that my mum always thinks about doing is small little table chocolate’s. She quite often orders these online on the Chocoholics website as they do really cute boxes with one or two small chocolates inside. In the past she has got the men small little top hats and the ladies little metal handbags, all with chocolate inside. I think this is such a cute idea, however it may not be wise to give to children before they have eaten their dinner!

Table Decorations
A Christmas wreath is always a great way to go for Christmas, however there are lots of cute ‘Pinterest’ ideas that you can use as well. I was lucky enough to attend the Not On The High Street Christmas event back in July and saw so many cute little place settings! I thought I would share a couple of these images again as a source of inspiration!

I hope you enjoyed this post and it gave you a little bit of inspiration! My mum and I are still debating what we want to do this year, and with two days to go we need to think fast! So please share your ideas with us!

Happy Christmas!

Blogmas Day 21 : The Sweater Weather Tag

How are we already up to day twenty one of Blogmas? In four days time it will officially be Christmas day which is so SO exciting! For today's post I thought I would do the 'Sweater Weather Tag'. I have seen it going around throughout blogmas a couple of times already and really love the questions! I hope you enjoy my answers! Feel free to take part in it yourself!

1. Favourite candle scent?
I am a big fan of the Vanilla/sweet scents. I especially love the Christmas cookie candle from Yankee!

2. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?
Tea all the way! The only way I can start my mornings! (Although I am a big fan of a Hot Chocolate)

3. What's the best fall memory you have?
My favourite memory is probably a surprise trip to Lapland to see Father Christmas! We got to ride on a sleigh, feed reindeers and ski! It was amazing!

4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged liner?
I have to go with dark lips. Purely for the fact that I have NO idea how to apply winged liner to look perfect!

5. Best fragrance for fall?
I really like the Victoria Secret Bombshell perfume!

6. Favourite comfort food?
My favourite meal to eat throughout the colder months has to be chilli. We have it atleast once a week and eat it in so many different ways! My fav is tortilla chips and chilli.

7. What's autumn like where you live?
Rainy, wet, windy and very very cold!

8. Most worn sweater?
At the moment I have been wearing a blue jumper that I got from topshop last year. Although, I also really love my Disneyland sweater I purchased in California in the summer.

9. Must have Winter nail polish this year?
I get my nails done at the salon so don't really know any names...but I love the red/burgandy shades! Oh and I always have to add a little bit of glitter!

10. Football games or jumping in a pile of leaves?
Deffo jumping in a pile of leaves. We own three season tickets for the West Ham stadium and I haven't attended once. When I say I hate football I mean it!

11. Skinny jeans or leggings?
If you had asked me this question a couple of years ago it would have been leggings 100%. Since finding Topshop jeans, I wear them everyday!

12. Combat boots or Uggs?
I love both so don't think I would be able to choose! Although, I wear my DM boots everyday and wish that I owned proper Uggs!

13. Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?
I have never ever tried the Pumpkin Spice Latte...Something about it doesn't appeal to me!

14. Favourite Winter TV show?
This year I have LOVED watching The Missing on the BBC. Other than that I enjoy The Apprentice and I'm a Celebrity!

15. What song really gets you into the Christmas spirit?
'Well I wish it could be Christmassss everyday!!!!'

I hope you enjoyed this post! Please let me know if your going to do this tag! I would love to see your answers! So please leave your links below in the comments!

Happy Christmas!
