Seventeen Contouring Products!*

Unless you have been living under a rock, then you probably haven't heard or seen the contouring phenomenon that has seemed to take over the world of beauty! I am a little late to the game when it comes to contour and whenever I see the charts or where to 'place' the products I cringe a little bit with fear of never being able to do it. I had been reading lots of blogs about these products and knew that I really wanted to try them out!

Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit

So this palette is the perfect contour palette for complete newbies like myself! As soon as I opened the box I knew that this was going to be something that I loved. I wouldn't call myself advanced in makeup, I only really started wearing it properly when I started university 3 years ago, so I love finding products that aim to help you learn. As you open the palette you are greeted with what I can only describe as a dummies guide to contouring. This is something that I deffo needed! It gives you the four simple steps to contour, and tells you when to apply each product and in what places. If only all makeup application tips were this helpful! 

One thing I noticed with this product is how pigmented it is. I was a little worried with how 'chalky' the highlight shade appeared as I am used to a more 'shimmery' one. But when applied on the skin, it gives a subtle glow which finishes off the look perfectly. I have since used this to highlight the inner corner of my eye makeup too!

Seventeen WOW concealer

This product has become really popular recently within the blogging community and its clear to see why. It is basically a brightening concealer which could also double up as a highlighter. It gives skin the 'wow' factor. I love the whole application process of this product. To get the product out you simply push the button on the end which slowly releases to the brush applicator. This brush is super soft and makes it easy to apply it to places where you want to add that extra glow. I have used this product as both concealer and highlighter. Although it can be used as both, I much prefer using it to highlight cheekbone, brow bone and cupids bow. 

This is my final look of my first ever attempt of fully contouring the face. Although it took a little bit longer than my usual makeup routine, I love the results! I am obsessed with the highlight the concealer and palette gave me. I am certainly going to have to think about getting up a little bit earlier to use this more often! I also love the combination of the contour look with the darker lip. (I am wearing Kiko Velvet Passion, 319)

Summer beauty edit!

In the UK summer is in full swing. I have already been sunburnt and I have already complained about it being too hot in the night, which are obviously generic things to say and do in the summer. So many great things have happened to me this week that I am so excited to share! First and foremost I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST! I did a first test the other week and failed due to another car pulling out in front of me, (I never will understand why people are impatient when it comes to learners), but alas I put in for another test straight away and 2 weeks later I passed! The second great thing to happen is my brother and father have gone to Brazil to help build orphanages. This is something that they have been working towards for 3 years. They are going with a company called 'Lionsraw' so I truly recommend checking them out online. It is a fantastic reason to go and they are even having a well deserved break watching a couple of matches in the little free time that they have got.

Now onto the post. I am starting to sort through my makeup as I have been less wanting to wear certain products now that the sun has arrived. Foundation being one is definitely out of the question! I bought the Benefit Big and easy BB cream, but still haven't made my mind fully up about that yet. The past week I haven't been putting a base on my face, although if you have any good bb creams then please let me know!. For the evenings I reckon I will still be using my YSL touché éclat foundation, although I reckon I will still use a minimum amount. To set my foundation I will be using my ever favourite Stay Matte powder. I have also been using my Porefessional by Benefit as a base every time that I apply makeup, so that is a must have for my makeup bag still!

Blusher was a difficult one for me as I didn't really know whether I would want to wear blush. In the summer you naturally flush so I have decided to put all of my blushes away for the summer! (A very brave decision for me I know)
I know many people do not bother with bronzer in the summer as usually your skin goes darker , I however do not seem to tan. I either go red or stay the same. So with that in mind I will continue to use bronzer. I have kept out my go to Hoola by benefit as this is my all-time favourite bronzer which never fails to disappoint me!

Recently I have been loving combining my naked 2 and 3 palettes. I feel like they have a great day-night time looks and always make my eyes look brighter. I have decided to keep out my Benefit They're real mascara as well as my Barry M Eye pencil.  

On my lips there are only a couple of lipsticks and glosses that I know I am going to be using ALOT. They are Mac Creme cup, Mac bombshell and Maybelline water shine gloss in 'cutie pie'. This is a really old purchase for me and I have loved wearing it more recently over Bombshell by make to add a glossier finish. It also smells lovely! 

My final must have for my makeup kit is this Vanilla body spray from natural collection. This is by far the nicest homely smelling thing that I own. It lingers on your body for ages and smells fresh and summery. I always apply this when I want to freshen up after a long day out and about. It is also super affordable and this one cost me £2 from Boots.

London Fashion Week Nails!

If you follow me on twitter you may have seen the picture above that I posted on Thursday night. Painting my nails on a regular basis is not an unusual thing to me, but this little mani is probably one of the favourites that I have done recently! It is super easy to do and does not need much explanation. What you need is a Silver polish or nail art pen. A Burgundy red colour and final a top coat glitter polish. 

 First of all you have to paint your nails with a top and base coat and once dry paint a coat of the burgundy colour. Once they have dried create a V line of dots on the bottom half of the nail. If you don't have a dotting tool you can use a tooth pick, or the rounded end of a pin poked into a pencils rubber. Once this has dried you simple paint the top half of the nail with the silver glitter polish.

Manicure sunday?

Now I know that usually you are supposed to post your manicure Monday blogposts on a Monday, but I was far to excited about this post! I am going to share my first (I think) nail tutorial! This is something that is very easy to do but looks really complicated when finished on your nails. It is also a nail tutorial and design that you can very easily do on yourself!

What you need for this tutorial are three colours which compliment each other really well. I went for Pink, Lilac and dark purple. I also got a base/top coat and a sponge. You can also use a makeup sponge if you don't have an painting sponge.

First step is to paint your nails with a base coat. This helps the nail varnish to go on smoother and also protects your nails from staining.

Then you need to paint your nails of the colour you have decided to be the base of the design. I went with Barry M's Gelly Hi Shine varnish in Grapefruit.

Then you need to apply some of the next colour you want to use onto your sponge. You really don't need very much on the sponge. Then begin to dab it onto the top of your nail and slightly gradient it down into the pink. You need to make sure that the pink polish is fully dry before doing this step. I used Barry M Nail paint in Berry.

Finally you need to add some drops of your final colour onto your sponge and then dab it right at the top of the nail to get a little of the colour onto the nails. Seal this in place with a topcoat when finished. The Purple I used was a small polish from No7 Collection.

I love how this design looks on the nails. It looks so chic and effortless that it is one that I think will be a reoccurring thing on my nails throughout winter. I am going to try this design out with other colours too, although these three together may be my favourite!

Blogmas day 11!

Hello again! Christmas cards are always sent out this time of year and I for one LOVE to receive them. I know it is much easier to buy cards from a shop in a multi pack but it is so much easier to make them yourself. I have been getting my creative flair going this year and have made some cards for my family and friends. Although mine are not completely finished yet, there are some great ideas on Pinterest. If craft is something you are interested in then you really should check the website/app out as it is full of various craft ideas that you didn't even know you were looking for.

I really suggest you check out the website for other ideas for diy as well. They have some great present ideas. You can really search for anything and I guarantee that you will get some sort of result!
