Fashion | ZARA SUMMER HAUL

Anyone else get caught out during the hot spike last week? Because I certainly did! So much so I decided to pull together a little Zara order to fill the missing spaces in my wardrobe of clothes I threw out last year, and thought I would be able to replace a lot easier this year! Zara isn't always my cup of tea, but when they've got some good pieces online they're one of my favourite places to shop. Hopefully these staples will be easy to wear with what I already own and be perfect for Summer days out in the garden, because let's face it we're not going on a holiday anytime soon!

I loved how simple this white t-shirt is. The frilly pocket makes what is something boring a little more fun and I know I will get lots of use during the summer with shorts, but also in the cooler months as a layering piece. I also needed some updated denim this year, especially post lockdown! Zara is usually a hit or miss with bottoms so I ordered these in a couple of sizes. I would say these hi-rise shorts with ripped detailing fit true to size but would suggest ordering one size bigger if you want them to be super relaxed.

I saw this relaxed vest with bows and fell in love! It was actually out of stock when I placed my first order but put my email down to be reminded and got it the next day. Much like the white t-shirt above I love how simple this is and I know it will be easy to style. The polka dot skort is also a favourite of mine from this order. It's simple but can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Although I am happy with this purchase I have decided to order again one size up as the fabric is a little tight and I want it to be comfortable.

Then I saw this relaxed t-shirt dress for £7.99 and thought I would see if this style suits me. Sadly I don't think it does, and it's a little shapeless for my liking, but I love the idea of it! I am going to be keeping this one despite my views on it, as know it will be great when the weather gets even hotter to sit in the garden in!

I then found this cute gingham dress with a small puff sleeve and fell in love. I love the puff sleeve trend going around at the moment and think this dress will be great on a summer picnic, even if it is just in the garden. I also loved the idea of dressing this up with a pair of wedges on holiday when the time comes!

Again, I needed another pair of denim shorts so tried out this style. If I'm honest I am not sure if I will be keeping them as they make me feel...big. They fit perfectly on the waist but the leg holes just don't sit right and the weird panel on the front looks odd to me. I'll be having a think about these ones!

Finally, I saw that I owned 0 maxi dresses so decided to try out this little beauty. I love the gorgeous coral colour, ruffles and the fabric of this. The neckline is more plunging than I probably would have chosen, but the straps are adjustable to give some support.

So there we have it, my little Zara haul. I know my picks aren't that adventurous but what can you do on a furloughed budget! There were a couple of misses that I haven't shown above as they didn't fit correctly. I think Zara's sizing has and will always be a risk when it comes to ordering online. At the moment I vary from size 8-14 depending on what the product is which isn't great.

Until next time,

Fashion : Zara sale OOTD!

I can't be the only one who gets excited when they hear/read the words Zara sale right? Out of all the sales that happen around this time of year Zara are always the shop which, in my opinion, come out on top! The discounts are always incredible, and it's probably one of the only times I have a proper look around and shop there.

I went into my local store last week and spotted this dress when shopping with Emma (my brother's girlfriend). After trying it on knew I needed it in my life! The dress cost £17.99 and is completely different to anything I have ever bought before, albeit extremely daring for me! I love the layered ruffles and off shoulder detailing, as well as the cute waist tie and ruffled hem. My favourite part about the dress is the nude coloured slip underneath which makes the yellow laced fabric hang gorgeously on the body when worn. As an added bonus, this dress makes me feel amazing too! This dress is so versatile and can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion! I've already decided that it will be coming away with me when I go on holiday next month.

Dress: Zara
Bag: Zara
Shoes: New Look
Glasses: Ray Ban

To match the gorgeous dress, I also decided to do a yellow/gold eye look which turned out a lot better than I thought it would!

What do you think of the dress? Have you got anything in the Zara sale yet? Let me know!

Until next time,

Feeling Nautical : Style Diary

Good evening!
Hope you have all had a lovely day so far!
It's been so cloudy, rainy and windy as well which makes leaving the house unbearable! I have noticed a little theme within my OOTD's that I look like I am dressed for summer, but honestly my house is SO hot for the majority of the time that I don't need to wear a jacket/cardigan until I leave the house. I have been wanting to wear this shirt for a little while now. I bought it in a Zara sale about 2 years ago and never felt confident enough to wear it as it was a little bit too cropped for my liking. (I have only recently started to wear t-shirt's that didn't cover my bottom when wearing jeans!)

I wore my Zara top with my Topshop ripped Jamie jeans and my Schuh loafers. I got these for my birthday last year and haven't really worn them very much since. I found them in the back of my wardrobe and have fallen in love with them all over again!
I spent some time to do my makeup today. I went a little bit over the top for a casual day staying in. But when else is a better time to experiment with makeup! I used my Smoky palette for the first time and LOVE it. I even did the tape trick when applying my eyeshadow which has changed my life!

Hope you have a lovely rest of your day!
Lots of love,

Tartan and Stripes : Style Diary

Todays outfit expresses the epitome of casual.
A slouchy knit jumper with a voile trim, paired with my favourite ripped jeans and soft scarf makes for the best uni look! I don't know if it has something to do with the colder weather, but I love being able to dress up in warm winter jumpers and boots without worrying about being too hot!

My striped jumper is an oldie from Hollister that I picked up in the Braintree outlet store. What a lifesaver that shop is! You can pick up some great bargains. My jeans are Topshop Jamie jeans with rips. I paired the outfit with my Cashmink scarf from House of Fraser and love how comfortable and soft it is. The best £5 spent in the black Friday sale! Finally I paired the outfit with my classic Zara tote bag. This bag is perfect for uni as it fits all of my sewing materials as well as my other bits and bobs. Plus it is super easy to just throw things into it!

I put my hair into a side fishtail braid. One of the most easy plaits to do which looks like lots of effort has been made!

This is what I spent most of my day staring at today! Although I wouldn't change it for the world!

After getting in from my water aerobics class my mum told me to pop upstairs and look in the bathroom. She had very cutely put out my pyjamas and dressing gown on the towel warmer so they were lovely and toasty for when I put them on. She is super duper cute! (Pyjama Set- Victoria Secret, Dressing Gown- Victoria Secret)

Hope you have a lovely rest of your day!
Let me know what you have got up to!

Lots of love,

Bad hair day!: Style Diary

Yesterday I moaned about it being too cold, today I am going to moan about it being freezing! My winter clothes are really coming out to play right now. I didn't have many plans for today except for popping up the town to repurchase my Rimmel London foundation from boots.

Today I wore my comfy new favourite grey ripped Jamie jeans with my topshop long sleeved longline shirt. This is one of my favourite tops at the moment as it is super cosy. I paired it with my Boohoo faux fur body warmer and Zara bobble hat. I am having one of those in-between hair washing days today, so I am covering my head with a warm bobble hat.

I spotted these Tsum Tsums, in Clintons when I was in town and loved the range that you can buy. I have been collecting them from the Disney Store when my favourites come into stock, so its nice to know I can get different ones in town.

Have a lovely rest of your day!

Lots of love,

A Topshop, New Look and Zara fashion haul

I think it is time to admit it..I have a shopping problem. The first step to improving is admitting right? Anyway, this week I made a cheeky visit to my local shopping centre to have a little browse for LFW outfit ideas. Of course like most shopping trips these 'ideas' actually turned into 'buying' and I am excited to share some of the bargains that I have got!

When it comes to Topshop sales I much prefer to look online than in store. The stores always tend to resemble a jumble sale so I usually stay clear. That is until Friday when I noticed that there was extra 20% off sale items. Yes 20%! An absolute bargain if you ask me! Being a student I was also able to get another 10% off that so I know that all of my purchases are justified! First things first I noticed this green crocheted high neck crop. I am usually not one to go for a crop top but I visioned it looking perfect with a high waisted leather skirt for London fashion week.

Green Crotchet Top -£7.00
Next I spotted this skirt. Again it is really different to what I usually go for. It zips up at the front and has rough edging. It is made out of a crepe fabric and is quite heavy. I am excited to wear this with a white jumper in the colder months.

Crepe Skirt- £25.00
Finally from Topshop I got this hooded scarf shawl 'thing'. with the winter months approaching and the mornings and evenings getting a lot colder I wanted something that I could wear on the train. I also think that it being styled over a leather jacket could look really cute! The colour also brightens up any outfit! Also when I got to the till it was even cheaper than the initial price on the tag was!
Hooded shawl- £7.00
Next was Zara. Seeing as I am going to Disneyland Paris (eep!) in October when the weather is a lot colder I thought that buying a new winter hat would be totally appropriate! This hat is from the TRF range in Zara and is made out of the softest wool ever! I got it in this faded brown colour for myself and the white for my mum!
Wool Hat- £7.99
One of my weaknesses when it comes to winter fashion is boots. I love a pair of boots! New Look seemed to have gone all out this year with this sector! They have every design of boots in every single colour you could ever wish for! I went with these mid heeled chunky boot. I have a pair in green from River Island that I love, but they are higher than I would be wearing every day! These boots are perfect for travelling to and from uni. They give me a little bit of height without being uncomfortable to wear!
Heeled chunky boots- £29.99
You may be able to tell from the better image quality that I have got a new camera. I have been working with my dad for the past 4 weeks to earn some money to purchase it. I was stuck between two cameras. The Nikon 1 and the Olympus Pen E-PL7. After lots of research and testing out of cameras I decided to go with the Olympus Pen. I am so happy with it! If people are interested in me doing a review then I can do one!

Have a lovely week!
Love
