Mini christmas tree tour - Blogmas Day 5

Over the past couple of years I have really got into the christmas spirit of decorating my bedroom. Now although I haven't fully decked out my bedroom yet, my two little christmas tree's have certainly gone up. My latest edition is the pinkest tree going. I knew that I wanted a special tree that I could have my special ornaments on. I collect them each year so hopefully this tree will be the one that I can use to show them off. If you saw my Disneyland Paris Haul then my 2015 decorations might be familiar. At the moment it looks quite plain, but when we get out all the decorations it will begin to fill up! The fairy lights are also new favourites. I found them in Wilkinson's for only £6 which is an amazing price for the quality! I am actually going back tomorrow to buy some more along with some others. Unfortunately you can't buy these online, so you need to get them quick! Wilkinson offer a fantastic range of decorations, I have been really impressed this year.

I thought I would include this picture of the both of my little trees in the prime position in my bedroom!

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Christmas movie favourites - Blogmas Day 4

I am partial to a nice little cosy infront of the tele on a cold winter afternoon, hot chocolate in one hand, laptop on my lap and a great Christmas classic on the screen. Ok, in my world Christmas starts in October. Christmas movies are my most favourite thing. Every year I re-watch the classics as well as hunt for new ones. Here is my round up of the films you need to watch if you haven't, and re watch if you have!
 Enjoy!

Arthur Christmas
I feel like this film is really underrated. It was released in 2011 so is still relatively new in comparison to the other films listed below. If you haven't seen it then you have to. It takes the whole classic idea of father christmas delivering presents on a sleigh completely upside down. Its a great film, certainly a must see!

The Grinch
This goes down as my all time favourite christmas film. I can remember watching this film for the first time being the same age as Cindy Lou, and falling in love with everything christmassy. I even asked my parents if we could move so I could have a round window to sing 'where are you christmas' out of. It's one of those films that everybody in the family, all ages can watch and love.

The Polar Express
I only watched this for the first time a couple of years ago.. I know a shocker really isn't it! Still with that being said its a great film regardless. One of my favourite scenes is when they all receive their hot chocolate in a rather sing song manner. I am still waiting for this to happen!

The Santa Clause
Another fantastic christmas film. I love the sarcastic and witty comments throughout this movie. There is something special about the cute father and son bond which is often not seen in the majority of films.

Mr Poppers Penguins
Ok, so this film isn't particularly a christmas movie, but if you have seen it you would probably agree with me that its just so darn festive! Jim Carrey plays a posh real estate developer/ penguin father. Hilarious. another must see!

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
This movie represents my childhood. Every christmas eve I would go round to my grandma and granddads house with my cousins and watch this before going off to the local christingle service. It's a very old film, released 1998 to be exact, so the words don't always match the mouth movements but thats what makes it special. The songs are also quite reminiscing for me, so thats why I love it!

Hope you liked my little roundup!

Winter Lipstick Edit- Blogmas Day 3

Recently I have been reaching for a darker lip to finish off my makeup looks. This is such a change for me as I usually feel safer with a nude or a pink. With the colder weather now, I have been feeling more and more confident to wear a bolder colour. These are some of my favourites at the moment! Let's call this my winter lipstick edit! Hope you enjoy!

First of all, I couldn't write a winter lipstick post and not include my new found favourite. I had been looking in MAC for a while to find my perfect dark lip and I think I have finally found it! This is Captive and is a Satin finish. As soon as I spotted this lipstick in the line up of products I instantly fell in love with it. Being a pale person, I sometimes lack a little bit of confidence in wearing a red lip so try to stay clear. This isn't red by any means but is close to it for me. It has a purple undertone and I have been complimented many times when wearing it! I have been wearing it paired with the perfect lipliner, Beet lip pencil from MAC.

I feel like this lipstick is really underrated. A couple of years ago British girlband Little Mix collaborated with Collection to produce a selection of beauty products that suited each of the girls. I have been obsessed with this lipstick ever since. It is probably the cheapest lipstick I own, but ironically the most used. On Jade's skin it is probably her perfect nude. On me it is a darker lip, but not so in your face. I love the texture of it and the fact it lasts pretty much the whole day without me having to touch it up is an added bonus! The only sad thing is I haven't seen this in stores recently, so fingers crossed I can find it somewhere when I need to buy it again!

As you can probably tell from the state of the tube, this product has been well loved. To be fair this has been everywhere with me throughout the summer. It is the Rimmel London Colour Rush, colour unknown!  It was one of the only lip products I took on holiday and feel it is a transitional beauty product from summer to winter. It looks perfect with a dark eye, but also with a neutral eye. I love it! It's also a lip stain so lasts a long time!

Finally this is another recent-ish purchase for me. There was a lot of hype around the Fleur De Force makeup products and they have really lived up to it. The shade is Starry Starry night. The colour pay off is very similar to that of my MAC Captive satin lipstick. However it is more of a gloss than a lipstick. The first couple of times I tried this I wore without a lipliner and found that it bled quite a bit around the corners of my mouth. I tried it with my Beet lipliner and I haven't had any problems! Such a great lipstick!

I hope you liked some of my picks!

Christmas Party Look- Blogmas Day 2

Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la, la la la la
(Still a little bit too early for the christmas songs? no? good!)

With all of the holiday parties coming up, I thought I would show off a look that I have been wearing a lot recently. It is perfect for work do's and general christmas festivities! Side note- I have been loving this lipstick recently! I am not usually a dark lip person and much prefer to go with the safer neutral colours, but this has really made me feel more put together!

After applying Benefit Porefessional, I used Benefit Puff Off under my eyes to help reduce circles. This product is a god send! I got given it as a sample along with a purchase I made and have been using it ever since! If your the type of person who struggles in the under eye region then try and get a sample to try this out! It's seriously amazing!

Next I applied my Rimmel London Wake me up Foundation all over my face. This is the first foundation that I have tried that I feel truly rubs into my skin properly. I have dry skin and have always struggled to find a foundation that wouldn't look patchy but this product works wonders!

Then I use my Rimmel London Wake me up concealer under my eyes and on areas where I might have blemishes. I tap the product in with my finger under my eye first then use my Nanshy blending sponge to blend it into my foundation properly. I love this sponge. It works wonders and always washes out nicely after use!

To set my makeup I used my trusty Rimmel London Stay Matte powder. It's true what everybody says about this powder!

Next I used my Benefit Hoola bronzer as a contour and then along the high parts of my forehead and down my nose. I love how natural this bronzer looks on the skin. It always makes me feel like I have a little bit of colour, without feeling orange!

For the eyes I used the Rimmel London Kate eyeshadow pencil in Rose Gold. Since buying this product I hadn't really used it as I thought it was too Bronze rather than rose. After using it in this look I think I am going to have to get a lot more use out of it! It blends in perfectly to the eye and when rubbed in properly can look quite natural! For the crease I used the darkest colour out of my Fleur de Force Cosmic Bronze palette. I used my Real Techniques eye shadow brush to apply this. Finally I used the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner.

Another new favourite of mine is the new Benefit Tinted lash primer. I got this as a sample in the most recent Elle magazine. It can be used as an eyelash primer, or alternatively on its own for a more neutral look. I have been wearing it under my They're real mascara and love the way it extends and holds my lashes that little bit more.

Then I applied my Beet lipliner by MAC. I filled in my lips slightly also to act as a base for the lipstick.

Finally I finished the look by applying Captive by MAC all over the lips. I am obsessed with this colour!

Heres the final look altogether! Let me know what you think of the look down in the comments below!

I hope you enjoyed this blogpost! It gets me all excited for the upcoming Christmas period! What looks are you going for this party season?

Have a lovely day!

Mini Mani Manor- Blogmas Day 1

Can you believe that December is here already? It seems like only last week we were celebrating the start to the new year. I swear the older I get the faster the years go!

I am so excited to start blogmas again! It was one of my favourite blogging moments last year, and it made me fall back in love with blogging all over again. I have some exciting ideas for the next 25 days which I can't wait to share with you all! Christmas is after all one of the BEST times of the year!

What better way to start blogmas than to show/discuss advent calendars. Personally I think that there should be an advent calendar for the count down to advent, (who's with me?!?!), but it is such a great way to countdown to the big day!  Last year was the first time that I really got involved with the whole beauty advent calendars. (I can't get over how expensive they are!) I have actually had this calendar since last January. I picked it up in TK-Maxx in their post christmas sales. I just love the Ciate nail varnishes so being able to try out 25 mini's is perfect for me!

I also love the classic chocolate advent calendars, and you best bet that I am going to be opening this every morning before breakfast!

I hope you enjoyed this post!
Have a lovely day!
