NEW IN: Seventeen makeup

As a student I am always on the lookout for new affordable makeup brands that work just as well, perhaps better, than their high end equivalents. If you have been reading my blog you may have noticed that a couple of months ago Seventeen sent me some of their products to try and I loved them. I was lucky enough to have been sent some more of their products to try out again and as per usual they have not disappointed me!

I was sent two bronzers, one powder and one cream. I have loved using my Benefit Hoola bronzer for the past 5 years now so am always on the lookout for something to take its place. I mean £23.50 for a bronzer is a little excessive, even in my books! So I was excited to see if these products could live up to my expectations. The Instant glow Bronzing powder in Light Bronze does just that. It looks gorgeous as a contour and bronzes the face also without looking too orange. The Instant glow Cream Bronzer is also lovely but I am still trying to get used to it! Hopefully I can do a full review on this product soon.

Next, I am so excited to have been sent the Easy on the eye eyeshadow palette. I love everything about this palette from the gorgeous packaging to the pigmentation of the products. The palette is so different from any shades that I have tried before. Usually I am drawn to a nude/bronze palette as these are what I feel comfortable wearing. This means there is a gap when it comes to wanting to create a dark vampy look! With Halloween coming up, I know that I am going to get a lot of use out of this palette. I am already imagining some looks with it. I was also sent a single Eye eye eyeshadow in Gold to try out which I have already used in THIS post. As you can read there, I love this shade so much already and know it's going to be a staple in my makeup routine for most of the festive season come December!

I was also sent two highlighting products to try. The Skin Wow 2 way Highlighter and the WOW Concealer. Both of these products can be used in different ways on the skin to give a glow. I am particularly interested in the 3 way highlighter as I have never used a product like this before. You can use it to prime the skin, as a normal highlighter or just to brighten the skin without applying anything else. The Wow concealer is one of Seventeens best selling products and I have been using this for a while now. It looks lovely on the brow bone as well!

L-R: Rioja Your World, The Coral Of The Story, No Corals and Violet Summer.
Finally I was sent a selection of lipsticks. Seventeen know me so well as I am 100% a matte lipstick girl. I have been seeing so many exciting reviews on the Mega Matte lipsticks so am excited to give them a try myself. My first impression of these are how pigmented they are. As soon as you apply them to the lips from the bullet

Have you tried any Seventeen products? Is there anything that I haven't tried that you think I will love?
Let me know!
Love,

Beauty: My golden eye obsession

One of my favourite 'go to' looks at the moment is a gorgeous golden eye. It's such an easy effortless makeup look to create and one that I can do really quickly. Now the weather is finally becoming cooler, and the berry lipstick's are beginning to show their face, I know that I am going to be drawn to this eye look even more. Plus it only uses two eyeshadow shades which can only mean its easy to do right?

The products that I have used on my face are a mixture of some of my old and new favourites. First I applied the Laura Mercier primer all over my face. I am really loving this product at the moment as it feels really smooth to apply and makes my foundation set really comfortably onto the skin. Next I use my classic Rimmel London Wake me up foundation. I have been using this foundation everyday for the past year or two now and love how it leaves my skin looking. To set my makeup I have used the bloggers classic Stay Matte powder. I particularly use this on the T-zone, as well as on the cheeks and under my eyes. Before doing anything with my eyes I curled my lashes as I hate doing this after applying my eyeshadow! First on the eyes, I used my Seventeen Gold Eye eye eyeshadow*. I still can't get over how amazing this product is to use. I am always a little bit sceptical with cheap eyeshadow products as I am a big fan of the buttery Urban Decay palettes. The pigmentation of the gold is gorgeous and applies really easy. In the crease I used the shade Heartbreaker in the Tartelette palette. Again, the shades in this palette are so easy to blend and are so pigmented. I love how these two shades look together. To finish the eye look I then went back in with my Gold shadow in the middle of the eye and underneath to make them glow a little bit. Finally I applied the Natural Collections waterproof mascara. This mascara is another new favourite of mine. It coats the lashes evenly and holds them in place ALL day long. You can also build up the layers with this mascara without them looking too clumpy which I love. For the brows I applied the Benefit Goof Proof brow pencil. This is such an easy product to apply as it comes out really light allowing you to build up the shape of your brow. Underneath my brows and on my cheekbones I used the Seventeen WOW concealer. This works perfectly as a highlighter and I love the brush applicator as it allows you to be precise! I then applied the Seventeen Instant Glow bronzing powder* in the contour of the cheeks. I have been looking for a bronzing palette to take the place of my Hoola and I think I have found it! They are so similar in colour and apply gorgeously on the cheeks. To finish I used my Charlotte Tilbury Super Cindy Hot Lips lipstick to match the eye look.

(In this photograph I tried the eye look on with my Kylie Jenner Posie K Lip Kit)

I really love creating this look on days when I want to look put together without putting in too much effort! I know that I am going to be recreating this most mornings before Uni!

Are you loving a certain eye look at the moment? Let me know what products you have been loving!
