Christopher Raeburn- LFW part 3!

After the rush from the Ong Oaj Pairam show I was milling around with my friends when I noticed that I had half an hour to be at Somerset house and queued up for the show. This caused me to have a HUGE anxiety attack because I had no idea where I was and how I was going to get to the show. So after a few panicked calls to both my father and brother I decided the best way was to get a taxi to somerset house so thats exactly what I did.

As soon as I got to somerset house I automatically felt part of the 'cool club' as everybody walking around looked so fabulous. The excitement also added to the overall mood of the place as well. When I finally got to where I needed to be I had to join another long queue to gain entrance. During this queue I met a lovely blogger called Vicky From http://www.lotsofloveme.com. We got chatting and went in together and then when we were told to stand Vicky went off and found us both some seats so we were able to rest our legs for the show. The collection was named 'Ascent' and was designed on the idea of flight. The clothing started with basic shapes and then continued onto parachute like garments which he had used recycled garments for. Layering was another aspect of his work that he did successfully while incorporating his signature style of prints.

Overall it was a fantastic experience and one that I am never going to forget as my first proper LFW show. I was extremely lucky to even be asked to go to some of the shows and then to be invited to the Christopher Raeburn one so randomly made me feel even more lucky (if thats possible!).

The Ong Oaj Pairam show!- LFW part 2!

Following on from the excitement of Cassandra Verity Green and my indulge of sushi, (I have been on a diet for the past two weeks so haven't been able to eat anything remotely nice!), we headed back to Freemasons' hall to get ready and prepared for the Ong Oaj Pairam show. We arrived like 2 hours early so after speaking to the guards on the door and explaining who we were and how desperate we were to use a plug to charge our phones they allowed us access into the media lounge. The media lounge was relatively empty. There was a long table that had laptops and plug sockets available for people to use to write up posts, and there was a corner for somewhere to have your nails done and makeup touched up. Overall it was a cute little area although very very empty! I guess everybody else was busy doing other things.

The previous show over ran slightly so we waited a little longer than expected. But it was good never the less. When we saw people begin to arrive we made our way down to the door. My tickets had got lost in the post so I had to speak to the lady briefly and she allowed me access before others arrived to take my seat. I had a really good view in the second row which was something I wasn't expecting. For this show they had given us tote bags which had a t-shirt inside. This was super cool and I somehow managed to leave with 3! They are really durable and look lovely as well!

The Ong Oaj Pairam show was full of shades of pinks, greens blues all of which were presented in pastel forms. The silhouettes created from his designs were stunning and there wasn't a item of clothing that he presented that I didn't think was nice. Which for a fashion show is very unusual as there is usually something that you don't love and would never wear. His whole collection was based around his fragmented memories of growing up alongside his families noodle factory. The prints combined with the idea of workwear can be clearly seen throughout this collection. And I was absolutely in love with the intricate floral pattern and oriental techniques used on some of his designs.  His collection was a combination of boiler suits, jackets, swimwear and pretty evening dresses. The finale dress was absolutely stunning and consisted of different coloured layers. The model wore it lovely as well!

My day then continued with me jumping in a taxi and rushing to Somerset house to see the Christopher Raeburn show. Check back tomorrow to see my report on that!
