Goodbye 2014, Hello 2015!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This is probably one of those post that most bloggers would have pre written and scheduled to go up dead on midnight of 31st December, but I am not one of those bloggers. I am a rubbish blogger who leaves everything to the last minute. I am a little disappointed in myself. I promised to do Blogmas. Something that I succeeded in doing last year, and really enjoyed doing as well. This year was different. Starting university has brought out its issues in me. As much as I love doing my fashion course, and I do love doing it, it has a very stressful workload which resulted in me having a couple of panic attacks in December. I realised that blogging should be something that I want to do rather than something that I felt I had to do. Basically the pressure got to me and I had to stop before I had a breakdown (a silly thing to say I know when my blog has a very minimal following but I feel like I can express myself on my own little page. My contribution to the internet as I like to call it!).

Anyway, 2015 is going to be a new year (literally) and I have a lot planned for this blog that will run alongside with my course as well as personal stuff.
I thought it would be nice to do a little new years resolution section, so next year I can look back on this post and see what I have successfully completed!

My last years resolutions were...

- Stop Worrying. This has defiantly not happened. I still and will always worry about everything!
- Do what makes me happy. Unfortunately this hasn't happened either. I have been unhappy for the longest time and this year I am hoping to change this.
- Appreciate the small things. This I feel is something that I have done this year. I have made time for my family and want to continue doing this throughout this new year.
- Make time for my interests. Photography and Fashion are still something that I find really interesting to me. I need to do more of this in the new year still. I have so many plans for my blog which will include picking up my old camera and I can't wait to share some of my little experiments with you.

This years resolutions are....

- Be Happy. For so long I have been unhappy. I have had a couple of issues with anxiety and panic attacks in 2014 which haven't been very fun at all. This year I want to try and combat this and try to have an overall happier outlook to life.
- Smile More. Like above I often forget how lucky I am. I need to remind myself more often by Smiling. I have read that smiling makes everything 100 times more better.
- Make healthier decisions. I need to make healthier choices in my life. At the end of last year I lost a lot of weight as I was eating properly and not snacking. I need to do this again. Also I passed my driving test in 2014 so have been driving around everywhere rather than walking, I need to use my legs more in 2015!
- Read. I think this one is self explanatory. My mum said to me the other day that I 'always used to have my nose buried into a book, I miss that about you'. Not only did this make me tear up a little bit but it reminded me that I truly did used to have a passion for reading. I only really read on holiday when I have nothing else to do and no internet to surf. I need to make more time for this in my life. If you have any book recommendations please let me know!
-Design. Being on a fashion design course has really stopped me wanting to design for myself. However at the end of last year I started my own little business designing cards and artwork. For some reason people really liked what I was doing and have started to buy bits from me. I can't quite believe that this has happened but am so grateful as well. This year I want to further this as well as carrying on designing my garments.

There you have it, my resolutions for 2015. I am sorry for the lengthy post and I hope that you understand why I didn't complete my promise to doing Blogmas. I am excited to get back into writing for my blog and can't wait to share with you what 2015 has to offer.
Thank-you for reading this post and don't forget to leave your links in the comments below.

Lots of love,

  1. Ooh great resolutions! I'd also like to read more in 2015. To encourage this goal I've composed a list of sixty pre-chosen books for me to read throughout the year. Reading the descriptions of the books and mini-reviews on Goodreads has really got me excited to read them all, which has proven to be really motivational so I'd definitely recommend it. I hope 2015 is kind to you x

  2. I really hope you manage your 2015 goals, especially the anxiety one. I really want to work on my worrying as well, it can get so frustrating at times!

    1. Anxiety and worrying is such a horrible thing because there is not a main cause that sets it off. I hope you have a stress/worry free year as well. Thanks for checking out my blog.
