Blogmas Day 5 : DIY Christmas Cards

For those of you who like to get a little bit more creative during the festive season, this is the blogmas post for you! DIY-ing my own cards and gifts isn’t a new thing for me. I love adding my own little personal touch to my presents and they go down really well too! Plus it can save you a little bit of cash along the way!

I have been making my own Christmas cards for the past couple of years now and love the whole process of sitting watching a cheesy Christmas movie whilst creating my little designs. Hope you find some inspiration if your planning to make your own too (Pinterest is great for ideas, I have so many boards with different card design inspiration!) Plus a lot of the things that you need to make these cards you can find laying around throughout the festive period. Enjoy!

Simple Christmas Trees
What you need: Plain Card, Brown paper, Black Pen, Scissors, Glue, Craft foam squares and glitter.

Nothing says Christmas to me than a bit of glitter. (Warning this is probably the messiest DIY card!) First of all I made another simple tree template that I can reuse. I take the brown paper and stick a square to the white card. Using a blank piece of card I draw around 3 of my tree templates, cut it out and finally smother them in glue. I then use glitter and smother this all over the different tree's. After this has dried I use the craft foam squares and stick the three tree's in the centre of the card. To finish I use my pen and write another festive message on the front.

Two Red Robbins

What you need: Plain card, Brown paper, Scissors, Glue, White and Black pen, Red glitter, Craft foam squares.

For this card I find it easier to make a shape of a little robin before starting. I then cut out a square of brown paper and stick this to the white card to create a background. Using my templates I use another piece of brown card and cut out two robin shapes for the front of my card. To create the red chest I simply use glue and loose red glitter. I then take my black pen and mark the legs on the background of the card front so that I can then stick the bodies of the robins on top once the glitter is dry. After marking the eyes and wings with my pen I use the foam squares to stick the robins on. To finish I use my pen to write a little Christmas phrase to stick onto the front.
