Whats in my makeup bag!

Good afternoon, I hope you are all having a really lovely wednesday! A lot of changes have happened over on this blog in the past couple of days. The layout, side bar and about me section has all been jazzed up a little bit. As we speak I am designing the new header for the blog which I am really excited about doing. There is always something nice about doing a big clean up! Let me know what you think about my new little design! I am open to suggestions!

One of my favourite types of blogposts to read are ones in which the reader snoops into the makeup bag, suitcase or handbag of a blogger. I find them so interesting to see what people are using and what products they are loving! I thought it would be nice to do this today and to share with you all some of my favourites that I have been using on a daily basis and am packing for when I next go away.

The makeup bag that I have been using recently is one that I bought last summer from the Ted Baker outlet in Braintree Freeport. I think they have changed the bow now on the front of the ways bags but you can buy a similar one HERE. Its the perfect size to hold everything that I need including a big Naked eyeshadow palette and all of my makeup brushes. It has a big light pink bow on the front and gold detailing.

Makeup Forever 136 Straight & Wavy
This is a Bronze Fusion Kabuki brush and was designed to use with powder products. I haven't been using it in this way but am loving the results that I have received using it with my liquid foundation. I received this as a gift in my goody bag that I got from the work experience so I don't know where to buy it from or how much it is to purchase. But I can say that it is amazing and fits perfectly in your hand when using it!

flat eyeshadow brush and black bronzer brush
Both of these brushes are really old that I can't remember where they are from. I use the flat eyeshadow brush to pat on the eyeshadow in areas that I know I want intense colour. I then use it to dab some colour into the crease of my eye. I use the bronzer brush with my Hoola bronzer from benefit. I find it contours the cheek perfectly and apply just the right amount of product onto my face.

Barry M eyeshadow crease brush £2.99
This brush is the perfect size for blending colour into the crease of your eye. I find that it works best when forming tiny circles when blending. For such an inexpensive brush it works amazingly and I haven't yet found a brush that I prefer more than this one. I can't find the link online but I know you can buy it in both Boots and Superdrug.

This is the first and only makeup brush that I have bought by the Real Techniques range. I love this for tapping in concealer under the eye as well as blending in liquid foundation if I am after that little more coverage. I have also used it a couple of times with my powder foundation and find that it also works really well, although you get better results with liquid!

I bought this brush on a whim when I had forgotten my sponge and needed to do my concealer. I have since used this everyday. It is the perfect size to fit under the eye and the hairs on the brush are quite solid so taps in the product nicely.

Natio Eyebrow brush
I got this brush in a set with others for christmas many years ago and didn't really use it very much until this year. I guess I have never really been that adventurous when it comes to makeup so didn't find the need to use this. However I now use it to brush out my eyebrows to get rid of any unwanted powder makeup. I also sneakily use the comb side to separate my lashes if my mascara gets a little carried away with itself! I can't find a link to this exact brush online but Look Fantastic sell many Natio products along with some other brushes, such as Powder and blush brush, that I really recommend!

Out of the three Naked palettes that I own, Naked 2, Naked 3 and On the run, the Naked 2 is by far my favourite. As I have a fairer skin tone, I am less likely to use the red/purple tones on my eyes as I feel that on a everyday basis they are harder for me to do in a hurry. This palette is in such a great condition considering the amount of time that I spend using it! My favourites are Bootycall for all over with Tease or Suspect in the crease. There are so many different eye looks that can be created from this palette.

If you are looking for a subtle blush then this one is for you. It has small tiny specs of gold which glisten when the sun catches your cheeks which makes it look stunning. I rarely use blush anymore but when I do I know that this is the one that I constantly reach for. Plus I love to have it just incase I decide I want to do something a little bit different.

This is the perfect trio of blush, highlight and bronzer that you need to create a stunning evening look. I feel like I very rarely use every section of the palette at once. I use the highlight everyday on my cheekbones and on the bridge of my eyebrows. I also use the blush in the evening if I want something a little more glam than my Elizabeth Arden blush. I think the only problem with this palette is that it either works for you or it doesn't. I personally love it, however I think I could definitely use it more!

Out of all the products that I read about on different blogs this one is probably one of the least talked about, yet probably one of my all time favourites. This was the first proper foundation that I used as it was easy to apply with the sponge and had great coverage. I use this when I want to put some makeup on but don't want to faff around with a liquid foundation. It is also perfect for touch ups on the go. The Body Shop also have a great colour range so you should try it out!

This bronzer is by far one of my most favourite's that I have ever tried. It gives the right amount of colour to the skin without looking too orange. This is an everyday product for me and although it is one of the most expensive things in my makeup bag, it is probably the only product that I can't do without! For somebody who has fair skin, this bronzer works perfectly to add that little bit of extra colour.

This is one of the most talked about products in the world of youtube and blogging. There isn't much to say about this product except for it does the job for making sure your face isn't too oily and for such an affordable price its no wonder its a lot of peoples favourites, including mine!

This is one of my newest products in my makeup bag. I can't believe that I hadn't tried it sooner. It it so easy to apply onto the lips and once finished you can just lip it off. I tend to apply this before I go to bed, or if I want to apply a matte lip for the evening. The only problem I have is if I forgot to apply it before cleaning my teeth.. It doesn't taste as nice when mixed with mint!

Elizabeth Arden high shine lipgloss
This lipgloss is one of the only ones that I own. It is a light pink with small specks of gold inside. It looks better applied on its own and is quite thick. I usually wear it with a neutral eye and a little bit of the Elizabeth Arden blush as well.

Another cult favourite is this Vaseline in rose jelly. It is by far my favourite of all the Vaseline's and smells so nice. I apply this on the go as well as before bed. It is the perfect lip moisturiser! It doesn't really add any colour to the lips, but never the less looks really cute in its little pink pot!

When I want to apply lip moisturiser on the go I tend to waver towards this as it is so much more easier to apply than sticking my finger in the Vaseline jar. As the name suggests it smells like peaches and has a little tint of colour on it as well.

This little lip combo is my favourite! I fell in love with this matte lipstick in Pink Plaid after spotting it on the side in my local MAC store. I have never had a matte lipstick before and found it hard to apply as the edges looked really rough and dry. I went into the store and a lovely assistant suggested I tried it with a liner and matched it to Hip'n'Happy. It worked perfectly and I haven't been using anything else during the day than this.

I have found myself being drawn back to using this liquid foundation again. I love how it applies liquid and then turns to powder when applied on the skin. I find it really easy to apply with both my fingers and my brushes. It gives the perfect amount of coverage for me.

Another cult favourite is this concealer. This tube is really old now that the writing on the side has begun to fade, and I have no clue what shade it is anymore! This is a love or hate product again and I still can't make my mind up what side I am on. At times it works perfectly for me, and then other times it doesn't seem to blend properly. At the moment I am really loving it again.

Dove Moisturising lotion travel size
I don't know where you can get this product from as I got it in a little gift set at christmas. It is the perfect size for a makeup bag as it takes up hardly any space. I have the larger version of this currently in my bathroom and apply it whenever I feel like I need it. I also find that it works nicely as a hand lotion.

This mascara is in my makeup bag because I have been trying it out recently. I am split with my decision whether I like it! I am a huge lover of my Benefit They're real mascara so I think its going to take a little bit of getting used to. It is a double ended mascara with a smaller wand to do the lower lashes and a bigger one to do the rest of your eye. It works and does the job, but sometimes I find my lashes get clumpy. I will let you know how I get on!

As I am trying out new mascara's when purchasing the one above I re found my love for this product! This was one of the first mascara's I tried when experimenting with makeup and I loved it back then and I still love it. I like the small wand and the amount of product that you can get off of it. Its easy to apply and I feel like I am able to do it with ease.

Elle Eyelash curler
I purchased this eyelash curler the other week from TKMaxx as my other one needed replacing. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to do a lot. The section where you press down only goes so far so I end up pressing it for ages before seeing any results. I imagine I will be re purchasing another one in the near future!

Benefit Porefessional (full size- £24.50)
I find that I am unable to do my makeup anymore without applying my Benefit Porefessional beforehand. It helps the makeup to lay flat on your face and it smooths out any dry patches on the skin. I recommend everyone to try out this product! I have got it in this small travel size version as I got it in a little gift set on the plane, but I also have a larger tube at home sitting proudly on my makeup table.

Black Hairbands £1.00 Primark
A need for every girl with long hair is a pack of hairbands. Seeing as the hairband fairy has clearly been, I am only down to the last 4! Primark sell the best packs of hairbands and I always seem to end up purchasing them again and again.

Moschino cheap and chic eau de toilette
I got given this travel size mini perfume for christmas and have been wearing this one recently. It has quite a strong smell that lasts all day. I apply it sparingly on my neck and wrists. I have heard the rumours that if you apply it in the middle of your arm that it helps it to last longer, but I am yet to try out this theory!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post about all of the products in my makeup bag. After writing this I am going to have to clean it out thats for sure! I am really enjoying taking images and writing for my  blog again. I think that I have re fallen in love with it which is lovely!

I hope you all have a lovely rest of your week! Let me know what you have in your makeup bag!

Lots of love,

    1. Hi Emma! They are so expensive for what they are! I don't own very much from MAC unfortunately BUT the bits that I do own I love! You should try out one or two of their lipsticks, I feel like they are easier to justify! I recommend Angel or Bombshell! Two of my absolute favs!

      Thanks for the lovely comment,
